Where do you draw the line at "opportunity" if you're concerned about your partner/spouse cheating? No opposite contact at the gym? No female dental hygienist if you're a man because she might be too close to you during your dental appointment? No working with people of the opposite sex?

I believe the OP’s perspective (don’t want to put words in his mouth) isn’t about the trainer becoming interested in the spouse, it’s about the spouse potentially becoming interested in the trainer.

People ITT keep saying “if someone’s a cheater they’re going to cheat”….and for some cheating that’s definitely true.

But they’re ignoring all the affairs that are a function of proximity and time. As in, things get a little rocky at home, you’re spending time with this good looking, fit guy who makes you laugh in a way that your husband doesn’t, who listens to you when your husband never does…he touches you while y’all are working out and maybe that feels nice…

All it takes is one momentary lapse in judgment during a rough time in your life. To say “that person was always going to cheat” is a bit silly IMO because none of that happens without proximity and time.

Do I trust my wife in that scenario? Yes.

Do I want her to have a male trainer? No.

Human nature is exists. Attraction can develop. There is no need for that shite. Find a woman trainer.

Sure but even if it doesn't lead to physical cheating it can still create an environment which distracts from the primary relationship. It's not wise to go out of your way to put yourself in that position when there are other options
