Clothes should just be optional in Texas for the rest of the summer.

Aging is mandatory. Maturing is optional.

The WBRZ weather channel on Cox in Baton Rouge says the temp here now is 95 degrees, the humidity is 60% and the dew point is 80 degrees.

It is 95° at my house right now and 97° at the closest NOAA station.

For some perspective, my grandmother died in 2012. We buried her on June 29. That day it was 106°. My Mom told the preacher to go as long as he wanted in the church, but to keep it short at the graveside. Everyone was melting.

I think my dislike for Louisiana summers is about to overtake my cheapness. I'm about to retire from cutting grass. I put in my time.

I pay someone to clean my house. I still like working in the yard.

I swear if our desk jockey safety director puts out one more mass email about the heat index and staying hydrated, I'm going to light his standing desk on fire.

Thanks Bubba for making me feel a little better. I am 65 and this past week put a few dents in my armour for sure.

Fast Facts
The warmest water in the world is found in the Persian Gulf, where the water temperature typically reaches up to 90°F (32°C) in summer. Therefore dew points will be that high as well.

The highest dew point ever recorded, 95°F (35°C), was recorded at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, on July 8, 2003. With an air temperature of 108°F (42°C), the heat index was 178°F (81°C).

I tapped out today. Working my job (telco), and by 9AM I was already drenched. By 11AM, I had made two trips to the nearby store for emergency bathroom breaks. Cramps hit me again inside the customer's house about noon, at which point I said frick it--I'm going home.

Been hydrating all week, but liquid diarrhea will defeat that in a hurry. Came home, took a cold shower, and brought my aged arse to bed. We'll try again on Monday.

Convenience store fast food will do that. Sorry to hear your plight.

Two Pepto tablets with clean bottled water should stop the "oy, muchacho" moments with the quickness, and one every six hours afterwards if it continues.
