I've been following his case. It's been interesting watching him plead for help from FedEx, seeing them ignore him, and then having to watch him escalate. They probably should have listened to him earlier.

I have seen UPS and Amazon do the same thing
I’m glad someone mentioned Amazon. We have had excellent deliveries over the past 8 years. Same day delivery for almost everything and usually delivered by an older white lady that was always so friendly and made a point to always say hello to my kids if she saw them. Now she’s gone, replaced by some thug that doesn’t gaf. We have repeatedly seen our packages tossed at our door from a good distance. Not to mention that 8 years of same day delivery are gone. Now it’s two or three days later.

Live in a large, multi building gated apartment complex & last mth a UPS driver stopped his truck in the middle of the parking lot & got out to deliver a package. And left his truck running. According to the subsequent police investigation, he got lost & couldn't find the right building / apartment .While he was walking around, 3 punks hopped the complex's fence, jumped into the running truck & took off. The truck was found later in a store's parking lot. The truck was empty.

I saw the Amazon girl do it, called her out and she still denied doing it.

Couple things
FedEx is a shite company.
1. UPS
2. USPS
3. FedEx
Also the owner is being dramatic. The little Lutron controls were all still packaged up in their original boxes with zero damage to them. But he now refuses to install them. Does he think all the packages are handled with kid gloves through the entire transit?
Dude sounds like a liberal always wanting something

frick all that. Fire the driver and then apologize. Anything less than that would be a no from me.
I'd at least like knowing I'm doing something in the world to stop these drivers from throwing packages around like that.

So, you hook it up and determine if it works
and since they are individual items, most people that are acquiring them would not like the fact that they had already been opened - then you open up the ability for people to claim you sold them refurbished items instead of brand new. no reason for the business owner to have to take on that burden and deal with that situation, when it is caused, through no fault of his own.
the business owner cannot take that chance, so FedEx should be help accountable.

yes, but as someone who has to go into client locations and install equipment in a banking environment, opening a box for the 1st time in front of the bank's IT hold a lot of weight, compared to opening a box that has been opened.
it creates situations where there us distrust - if i were to open a box with a 10k Server with a Banks Networking person, and they unseal it with me, then they have the comfort of knowing it is coming from the manufacturer as "new" - and that if it is not, it is through no fault of me or my employer.
but if they open a box that has been opened, then that creates questions of has this been tampered with, or is it a refurb and not the new equipment I paid full price before.
I have been in that situation, and it sucks. so yeah, I see where the Business owner is coming from.
