I knew someone years ago who was a delivery driver for UPS. Back then there were many many less deliveries and one driver covered a whole area so you got to know them. He was making pretty good money.

I don't know what the delivery guy problem was but it's likely that all that stuff is fine. Guessing the owner of the business sensed a good PR move to say he wouldnt install the stuff. Smart on his part I guess but sans the box that was kicked, they have seen that level of handling throughout their journey and would have with any carrier.

Those were pretty pricey speakers or high end audio components. It begs the question how the packages are treated in the trucks and during transit when no one is watching and there’s no cameras

Or since FedEx didn't seem too interested in accountability, the owner may have decided to take it to another level. I probably would have let it be if I found out my equipment was fine, and I received a positive response from the company.

The owner admitted he won't use it whether it's damaged or not.

It does not matter how the packages were handled.

If the equipment is not damaged, there is NO claim. That is the law.

Those idiots look like convicted felons. Does FedEx even background check people like this?

they all do it - hell i watched baggage handlers in Atlanta throw suitcases - there is no real repercussions and businesses do not care.

It’s audio equipment, though. You can’t prove it isn’t damaged based on appearance alone.

No, probably can't determine damage to these items by appearance alone.

So, you hook it up and determine if it works.

The point remains. The way the packages were handled is irrelevant. There is no claim unless the items were damaged.

Not being an expert in audio equipment, idk, though. Might it break or wear out too soon if components are damaged? I hate frivolous lawsuits as much as the next guy but are we also putting up with this bullshite by people delivering our stuff?

it won't be too long until R2D2 and C3PO take over last mile deliveries. i doubt the robots will do worse than this.

Anyone who has dealt with UPS or Fed Ex long enough has a deep, burning hatred for them.

I've had them absolutely destroy a (commercial) package, and claim "Our inspection of the packaging has found that we did not cause damage" when the package was never inspected. Or how about the time Fed Ex failed to deliver an overnight priority Saturday delivery to a chemical plant because "the receiver was closed". They pencil whip worse than any cheating golfer ever could.
