Open up the country 100%. If you are scared fine, stay at home or get your arse to a CVS. I’m going to work

I will pass on it just like I have passed on taking any of the rushed vaccines for a virus that has less than a 1% chance of killing me
This right here. Now that all the sky is falling people are all getting vaccines what's the problem here? I mean if I don't get the vaccine then if the big bad covid takes me then that's all on me right? Time to move on

Two arguments against that on a societal level are:
1. If enough people refuse the vax we may not reach herd immunity which puts people for whom the vax is contraindicated at risk. They are often the people who see serious complications and death. This is the same argument as for many childhood vaccines for all but eradicated illnesses.
2. With a significant portion of the population still susceptible to the virus it allows the possibility of more virulent mutations to occur and take hold which may not be prevented by the current vaccines.
While I may not agree with your position I do understand your trepidation. My personal choice was predicated on what physicians did and they have gotten it at almost a universal rate.

This thread is hilarious.
All the leftist liberal shite posters that 5 months ago were literally saying they "ain't taking a vaccine Trump cooked up in his bathtub in 6 months" are calling other people stupid for questioning a vaccine.
What a joke you people are.

hope politicians have no regard for idiots refusing to take this.

While I won't call people on either side on this issue idiots if the only reasoning people are using to not get the vax is the survival rate of the illness I would suggest their cost/benefit analysis is far too limited to make an informed decision. Now the ones for whom their decision can be traced at a base level back to politics is a different story. Basing medical decisions even in part of politics is idiotic.

Where the frick are you finding leftist shill posters on TD? For sure people on Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, etc...we're spouting that shiite.
Closest you'll find to "leftist shill poster" here are people who voted for Trump, but didn't necessarily love him.

They just made the vaccine available to teachers and daycare workers on Monday. The age cutoff for the general population is 65. Fat asses and smokers 55-64 are also now eligible. None of these people over 55 are pregnant. Few of the teachers have received the vaccine yet and even fewer have had time to miscarry.
Where are all of these miscarriages coming from? From females doctors, nurses and EMTs? How many are pregnant? It seems like relatively small subset.
It also seems odd that LDH has just added pregnant women to the list of people eligible for the vaccine, if there's been a sudden increase in miscarriages.

I’m so sick of hearing about these vaccines. Fat, unhealthy people are going to end up causing this shite to be mandated on perfectly healthy humans.

I dont know about anywhere else, but in LA the vaccine is strictly voluntary. Of course that could change, but hospitals currently aren't forcing their employees to get it, at least that I'm aware of.
If you don't want the vaccine for whatever reason, you dont have to get it.

Was there honestly ever a good argument for locking down after the initial freak out?
Well, yes, there were good arguments, just as there were good arguments for doing what Sweden did in the beginning and what Florida did in May - open up! My opinion is that Florida did it right. Lock down for 6 to 8 weeks then open up and let people do what thet think.

I’m more concerned about having to show your covid shot card to travel on an airplane or attend a concert or sporting event.

Does that mean they ramp up production or do they have 60 million doses in storage ready to ship now?

No, and the data seems to clearly support the idea that heavy handed governance accomplished nothing but help severely harm this nation, her economy, our education systems, and our trust in the authorities across the broad spectrum of knowledge bases.
“Freedom is not defined by safety. Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place. Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety as a worthy ideal, because it would require total state control over its citizens’ lives. Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen and a false government security blanket beckons.”

I imagine that could happen, but so far I've only heard it suggested as a possibility on message boards.
Nevertheless, if you feel strongly that the vaccine is unsafe or unnecessary, nobody is forcing you to take it. If at some point in the future you have to give up concerts, sporting events, and/or air travel, that's your choice.
