We cancel surgeries because ICUs are full of flu? News to me

we dont over react to flu outbreaks

we dont politicize various flu treatments

we dont misdiagnose the flu either

Keep your goalposts in one place please.

It happened across multiple hospital systems in 2018 in multiple states.

Fine, then since it won't kill me, I am selfish and I intend to kill fat & old people. Dude, no vaccine has ever been MANDATED. You don't see the problem here?

Obfuscation by deflection is not a good look in a (semi) serious thread. I said none of that.

If you have ever used the idea of "moving the goal posts" in a COVID thread consider this position.

Your point was about the time to get a BL for vaccines, I countered that I assume since you changed the subject you did not have a rebuttal.

The employee mandate of vaccines is a different issue and I will be glad to engage on the point both legally and philosophically if you care to.

I have no problem whatsoever with someone who doesn’t want a vaccine that’s under an emergency authorization. But once it’s gotten full FDA approval, and now the feds and the pharm companies are on the hook legally, I no longer get the hesitancy.

The current version of the FDA is no more trustworthy than the CIA. The vaccine was getting FDA approval whether 100% got it, 0% got it, or everyone died. And the same courts that favor DACA, block travel bans, say Obamacare is constitutional, won't hear a case on election fraud, etc ain't gonna hold Big Pharma accountable for deaths from a vaccine they are part of a conspiracy with.

Remember that time everyone freaked out because only 75% of adults received the flu vaccine?

Just kidding, there's never been that many people get the flu vax, and nobody gives a shite how many people get it.

And its not even that I dont trust the vaccine. I just dont think its worth it for me.
Probably wasn't worth it for me personally, either, but getting vaccinated was probably the bare minimum that I could do to play my part in ending this.

How weak and childish to be this way. Seriously, this is how children behave.

If they just shut up and distributed statistics and info I guarantee more people would get vaccinated.
Yeah right.

What's the benefit to constantly worrying about the vaccination status of random people you don't know? Besides the virtue points of course.

tbf im not worrying about your status, im dumbfounded with yall nonsense and misinformation. yall out here arguing that that risk to benefit doesn't favor the vaccine is hilarious. get the shot or dont IDGAF, but the vax fear propaganda is just gross by now.

quote:

"Daddy said we could play outside if you get this thing you don't really need" is literally the only reason to focus on this. And we know that daddy is lying to you. Or most of us know anyway.

well you could focus on the mountain of data that widely supports risk/benefit for vaccination over non-vax.
the vaccine being effective is objective and related health risk/benefits like death/complications, full recovery etc are what we were discussing.... not risks/benefits like being grounded from by the gov from going inside restaurants.

I dont think the gov should be mandating stuff like that, nor should vaxes be mandatory, but they are objectively better medical decisions despite how you may feel politically.

5 states mentioned in this one article alone in this one year, 2018.

2018 Flu outbreak

The 2017-2018 influenza epidemic is sending people to hospitals and urgent-care centers in every state, and medical centers are responding with extraordinary measures: asking staff to work overtime, setting up triage tents, restricting friends and family visits and canceling elective surgeries, to name a few.

Can you explain how its selfish to not get vaccinated when you can get it to protect yourself?
I'm not sure how to be more clear about it, or why it even needs to be explained. No vaccine works 100%, and for that reason we rely on one another to get vaccinated. Vaccines work not only at the individual level, but also at the community level. That's just how it is.

No it wasnt. I was against the vaccines for anyone that wasnt elderly or had health defects but came around to it a little and convinced both my parents to get it. Due to facts and statistics. And you're kidding yourself if you dont think the radical push for everyone to be vaccinated for something that 99% of the total population and 99.99% of young people have no reason to worry over doesnt turn people off. When people who have given reason after reason to distrust them push something on others then a lot of people are going to naturally say "frick you." It may not be your intention but you painting people into a corner and their natural instincts are to push back.

Nowhere in there does it say outpatient surgeries were cancelled

That is BY FAR the biggest money maker for hospitals

You think they are doing it to push the conspiracy?

I have no doubts that the vaccine is effective, and I'm glad it's working.

I'm not spreading any disinformation either.

Just to confirm, you believe we need to be 100% vaccinated, and that will be what allows us to get back to normal, correct?
