22 million comments on their NN plan saying don't do it wasn't enough for them?
Wtf happened to for the people and by the people?
Screw to these guys, I hate them.

All this discussion of bandwidth reminded me of when I paid $3 an hour for dialup.
Buckle up lil johnny bc if the ISP Trusts gets their way, you'll be getting dialup speeds on any website that competes with their mediagroup.
You want to know what's more damaging to the middle class than an overburdensome government? Corporate Trusts controlling an entire economy....That's what we are looking at, a consortium of ISP's who have their own media groups manipulating the market in their favor to ensure every last dollar you spend lands in their wallet.

would overturning these rules be unconstitutional?

internet needs to be treated as a utility. Imo, if you have the ability to use imminent domain for a right-of-way then you aren't 100% in the private sector and you should be subject to oversight by the public.
This is the correct answer to all of this.

But my fast lanes!
I don’t know how anyone could support doing away with NN.

What nobody wants to tackle right now is the real solution to this problem....getting rid of regulation at the local government level and allow real competition to enter the space. But don't worry about it...F it let's just do things the same way we have been doing them forever and expect things not to get worse.
How exactly do you get “real competition” when the major ISPs own all of the infrastructure?
This is like saying that you want local pizza delivery places to compete for your business, but Dominos owns all the roads to your house.

Ask people in Texas who have a plethora of choices for power.

NN is not about endpoint delivery of the internet. That is STILL owned by the monopoly in your region.
It's about what you do with your internet connection
If the power company decided to dim your lights everytime you use your oven because you didn't buy their brand of oven....would you consider that fair?

Russian, I don't get what your motivation is. Are you arguing that removing NN is a good thing, or that it won't make much difference to us either way?

Because people like DarthRebel, ShortyRob, and LSURussian are old morons who don’t know what they’re talking about.

seems to be a trend for posters over the age 50 who barely know how the internet works in the first place

Goodbye internet. I'm surprised it lasted this long.

The older generation is gonna have to start dying before people who actually understand tech can be the ones making the decisions.

The poliboard thread is interesting. My opinion that is charging you more for using a certain site is garbage, but charging the family of five who streams all day more than me who barely uses any bandwidth/data is fine. Some people are saying this is ignorant, but I see that some sharp dudes like Russian agree with me, so I think I'm OK.

Why though? Big boy ISPs pay jack shite to transfer data.

Russian is not a sharp dude
He's old and is losing his mind
He argued against investments into btc when it was a mere $50, now its nearly $8000 only three years later
