What these guys want is YouTube to pay for a faster connection, so YouTube charges you for a faster connection.

Or even Tigerdroppings pays, we pay, or it slows to a snails pace.

That’s what it’s all about. Money.

I'm still confused as to what is better. No net neutrality or yes net neutrality. For a while it was yes NN is a good thing but then it started to look like a bad thing.

"Net Neutrality" sounds like a good thing fwiw.

Telling cable companies how to run their business is communism.

Either make it a utility or let the free market handle it.

It’s a money grab by the internet providers, allowed by the new Chairman of the FCC.

It’s a money grab for these internet providers to get more money from popular sites. It allows them to will slow down the speed of internet sites. Sites like Tigerdroppings will have to pay, or literally go away overnight.

Chicken will have to fork over $$$$$ or have his site slowed to where it’s not useable. So he will with give up ad money, charge us, or go out of business.

YouTube, Snapchat, Tinder, whatever you use - ultimately you will have to pay.

So, literally, Tigerdroppings might face a big choice come December - yes, it’s that big of a deal.

It should be a utility. Break up the infrastructure and content providers. Just like power and gas.

I actually disagree here. It’s not about money: it’s about power and control. The MSM is fricking terrified that they’ve lost the narrative. They firmly blame YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter for Trump winning the election. Twitter and Facebook will probably survive it, but it will without question be the death of YouTube. They are trying to turn it into Hulu and are actively demonetizing really anyone who isn’t with the Big Six or doesn’t follow their narrative.

And to this fricking a-hole who tries to act like he’s everyone’s buddy:

Please go frick off into the nearest sewer and never emerge from it again.

Here’s John Oliver explaining Net Neutrality in great detail in two parts:

Internet provides are the worst of the worst. But we need to give them the keys to the kingdom.

I agree with this sentiment. However, look at how the free market has handled the way cable companies control access to the internet. If you are lucky you have access to a maximum of 2 providers of high speed internet. I don't think an oligopoly is the optimal situation for providing internet access. If they want to have less stringent rules, there needs to be more ligitiment competition.

No it isn’t. There’s a reason a government can break up monopolies, and it’s to prevent them from terrifying 99.999% of society. That’s all the board members of the Big Six and the FCC: control. Once net neutrality is overturned, no one but these people very high up in the government and media will like it.

The problem is it's not a true free market. These are regionally granted monopolies that have the clout to even stop local municipalities from competing against them. If you're going to give them no NN you at the very least have to take away their lobbying to limit competition.

You're complaining that a company charges extra for an upgraded service?

Exactly. I was sure before this time last year that we didn’t live in a Democracy but an Oligarchy, but Trump’s election put my certainty in some doubt. But if this happens, then yeah I’ll be pretty sure we’re living in one again.

Well I like Tigerdroppings and YouTube.

I am fearful for their future.

I think the head of the FCC was promoted by Trump specifically to end Net Neutrality to give more power and money to the ISPs.

It’s not a payment for a faster service - it’s the sites themselves pay to broadcast faster and we pay more per site to receive it.

Chicken will have to pay $$$$ to have his site go at the speed it is going now. He will have to give up ad $$$$$ or charge users or go out of business.
