I'm sure if you investigated the Torres family, you'd find some interesting stuff. His mom was a lifer as the clerk of court in St. Bernard. His dad an attorney. I'm sure they've had their share of corruption.

As another poster said, grandma.

No doubt politically connected.

Why do people think the garbage industry is a trashy business?

100%.

Remelli is incompetent and runs a crappy company but he's well connected and likes to sue people. No doubt he's not pleased with how his lawsuit is doing, so he's decided to try to drop a dime with the FBI.

That's not to say Zahn is innocent. he has always struck me as the EWE type... the trains runs on time but he's absolutely likely getting a cut.

Ramelli is desperate. Didn't he get the Kenner contract in a similar fashion?

In Louisiana you can either have corrupt, incompetent, or a combo. If they’re only corrupt, at least some good will get done.

Do they though? Look at the mall, the pavilion, lake town, the list is long. If you don’t pay your vig or you could potentially be successful and show them up, they stonewall any growth.

The businesses that wanted to be in Kenner, only to decide otherwise after a meeting with Ben, Nicky, and Buisson would make you blush.

EDIT: and I’m sure the next time I drive through Kenner, I’m getting pulled over lol.

Which Ramelli is it this? I used to run with the Ramelli's from Bancroft Drive but I've been gone a long time.

At least Torres' company actually picks up the garbage. Ramelli dumped more garbage in the street than what was actually put in the truck.

Yea, what the freek is going on there?
Absolute disgrace
Half of the boat ramps are unserviceable, trash everywhere, uncut grass, etc.
Instead of contracting the dredging of the boat launch, these idiots purchased some sort of make shift dredge.
It had what looked like a 3 or 4" line on it.
That thing sat out there for a couple of months.
Evidently they "dredged" a swath and staked it with pvc poles. It marks about 2 and a half to 3 feet deep.
Even with the engine tilted up, it still kicks mud from the launch to the lake.
I guess this is the kind of return you get when you elect a florist as mayor and a bunch of dipshit council members.

If an investigation was done on every mayor in the state, I would bet that over 50% of them could be charged with something.

Mayor, Governor, City Council member, Chief of Police, Country Sheriff, etc. All crooked as hell in every municipality in the World.

Unlicensed florist. He failed the exam. I dunno what is more surprising about that, The fact that there is a florist exam in Louisiana or that he failed it.

From what I have heard (different things).... doing it the way they were/are doing it was cheaper than hiring a company out right...(city employees do "60% and contractor does 40%" or whatever the split was going to be). They stopped doing the work because of the traffic going to and from the boat launch and unless something drastic happens they plan on starting again in the winter time.

Other than that the department that takes care of the lake and other parks is severely understaffed (I'm having lunch with a 'management' person from that department soon) and I can probably get more info... but i know that the guys who used to upkeep it daily are no longer there... not sure if they quit, got fired or what.

Sid Torres has proven to be the best garbage collector in the region hands down - it's not even close.

Not the first time they’ve investigated Sidney. There is a reason he’s able to provide better service.

That test is kind of hard. I remember being asked what peak season for Baby's Breath was and I'm like, is this the test to be a florist or to be the President?
