Those seagulls had a feast too. Imagine one of them landing on your picnic table with some dude's pinkie in their beak.

was thinking something similar, water was way too rough for just a swim,

The other clue were all the people fishing from onshore. Apparently there is a lot of fish activity in that area. Good for all predators, human and shark. Also based on the nature of the waves it appears to be a steep drop off 50 or so feet from the shore. Good for fishing and perfect for great white ambush attacks.

Would be a terrible way to go. I still think about that kid from Mississippi that got his arm ripped off by a shark down here 20 years ago. An old buddy of mine was the ranger that killed the shark and removed the kids arm from it's mouth.

Imagine being the person struggling and when you are above water you see a motherfricker fishing and the other one filming you on his phone.

I just want to expound on this a bit.

If you hear that I, Legend, have been killed in a shark attack, you can pretty much write it off as a horseshite OT rumor.

If, however, you hear that I was hit by a dump truck whilst trying to get a pic of a cool-looking bird, you can probably trust that one.

The headline would likely read something like this:
"Local man tragically killed after absentmindedly wondering into traffic in pursuit of a Vermillion Flycatcher."

I am pretty sure that my end will be also met while I am being distracted by a cool bird. I've actually been told by friends that they think this how I will die.

don't bother, there's nothing to see - at most there's a hazy pink circle at the point of attack

To be fair, the video blurs out the victim.
