Taco Bell is supposed to be DELICIOUS shite food for a few bucks
FIFY
In college I could put back 2,000 calories from Taco Bell for $4.
500 calories per dollar was a hella deal!

The graph actually leaves off the 2019 source. The 2024 source for McDonald's only, is Los Angeles.
Location not specified for anything else.

Yeah, I can remember when the tacos were like 50 cents. You could stuff your face for $4-5. It's not like that anymore unless you buy specials on the app, but my kid wanted quesadillas.
You can get much higher quality food for pretty close to $22.

Remember the Jack In the Box tacos? I think they were two for a dollar around 2012-2014. Used to crush 10 of them after going out. Would always get the Uber to drive us through on the way home. Just checked the menu and they are only selling what they call "tiny tacos" now. $4 for an order. Looks like a bunch of lil bitty tacos instead of the big crunchy ones with a slice of american cheese in them.

This fast food inflation is really all you hear about nowadays
Nobody is talking about how steak went up and never came down. Skinny people are the most oppressed minority

Maybe it will disincentivize people to eat that stuff on the regular. Buying and cooking your own groceries is cheaper.

Reminds me of those cucks in Iowa whose daughter was raped and murdered by an illegal and afterwards they defended him saying diversity is our strength.

You can get medium fries on the app for $1.

Trump is no fiscal conservative and certainly partly responsible for our current inflation issues. I say that as someone that voted for him twice.

I got Taco Bell the other day for me and my kid for the first time in maybe a year or two. $22 and I didn't even get a combo.
Happened to me a couple weeks ago and definitely not going back.

If you just order off the regular menu, you get bent over. The only way to make fast food cheap is like the 4 for $4 type of deals.
I eat fast food maybe twice per month, but I can get takeout from a quick service type of place for that price and the food is much better.

All we need to do now is raise minimum wage to $30/hour and then everyone will be able to afford fast food again.

We did a LOT of road trips when I was a kid and we lived out of state while almost all the relatives stayed in La..
When inflation was up and food pricing was in flux we’d have sandwiches and chips in a rest area picnic instead of fast food. Even back then the savings were significant.
Point is: intelligent people make adjustments to changes in economics. They find or create a way to cope. Fools continue on their same path even when it ends up causing harm.

This used to be common not just on roadtrips but at places like amusement parks. I went to Disney and Six Flags a lot as a kid and we’d always go out to the car for lunch from the cooler in the car trunk.
