I'm curious why you think this incident is thread worthy??

Did you mean to ask why this was national news worthy? That's a good question.

First off, this thread title sucks because the family doesn't really seem to be outraged.

Second, I don't understand why the Santa would take a picture--holding the child--but wouldn't with the child in his lap--in which he would be holding the child.

This doesn't make any sense.

Some people just don't know how to cope or act around children with special needs. They should at least try and understand that.

I think a person playing fricking santa would be a little compastionate towards all kids

Ok,but you did see where the kid was hooked to a ventilation machine right? The guy is a minimum wage Santa, not a physician. Probably scared the hell out of him.

I'm just not understanding the issue with any of this.

Just seems like the mom is way over stressed which is understandable. I do hate when people go public with something like this.

A guy playing Santa who really did nothing wrong will probably be criticized by people when in all reality he was probably just nervous about the entire situation and was trying to do what he thought was best for the child.

Ok...

Someone takes a kid off of a breathing machine in front of me to take a picture, my first reaction would be "we need to get this photo taken ASAP".

Photo looks fine to me. The baby isn't crying or anything. The parents need to shut up.

For those saying the family doesn't appear to be outraged; this story made it to USAT somehow. I'm guessing BPS' press office didn't notify the media.

So, they were either outraged enough to notify the media and retain legal counsel or they are simply feigning outrage in order to leech off the guilt industry for free stuff. On the one hand they are way too sensitive about the seemingly reasonable and cautious actions of a store Santa offering free photos. On the other hand, they are malicious scumbags using their child's medical condition in a cynical shakedown racket.

Neither look is admirable.

Something happens to the kid while on Santa's lap and they would be outraged and suing as well. I'd be scared to handle the kid as well.

If the dude playing Santa wasn't comfortable with it he shouldn't be catching so much shite. I hate what the parents and kid have gone through but that doesn't mean they get to have people bow down to their will.
