Expensive as all hell. Really cool areas in the city. Food is great too. Traffic is a nightmare between certain hours.

Closest I’d live to the Bay would be the North Bay area, Sausalito & Santa Rosa

San Fran is not terrible, it is just very expensive.

Thread seems remarkably evenhanded, but your reading comprehension issues are duly noted.

"Very expensive" .....my son lived in Sacramento for 2 years & his main complaints were the State taxes on everything & the numbers of regulations on everything, to an excess. Both are State issues, not restricted to San Fran but they exist there as well.

Just spent a week there in May. No problems whatsoever. Walked downtown, chinatown, all the popular areas. Only saw a few homeless people, but they were too messed up to even be an issue. Didn't feel unsafe at all. But I was only there for a week.

That's great to hear. Went in 2018 and loved it, but went back in 2021 and swore I would never go back because of how sketchy it had gotten. There are only three cities in America: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland, although I would sub Chicago in for NYC.

New Mayor. Streets are clean. San Fran is back

My FIL is there currently for business and sent me a video of 4 piles of human shite 1/2 block away from the entrance of his hotel.

Stay away from the Tenderloin and most of the city is like any other big city. It's been a while since i saw people openly using drugs or shitting on the sidewalks.

It's nice most places not near the city. The downtown area is a literal pile of shite. I know people that live 45-60 minutes away and commute because of the conditions in town.

I was there in March and if you have to walk more than a few blocks, you'll have to walk through packs of geeked out, yelling bums and open drug use.

Why would you ask a bunch of people who constantly shite on California at any opportunity this question?

One of my best friends lives there. I've spent a lot of time there.

You don't know what you're talking about. Everyone I've met there has been really nice and pretty chill.
