Those poor kids. I can't imagine going from a loving, happy, healthy home to being forced to go back to the ghetto with a selfish drug addict who couldn't care less about me. Absolutely heartbreaking.

In all likelihood, the bio mom is looking for a payout.

A cursory reading indicates it's a gray area as "adoption expenses" are allowed for the birth mother, but it can also cross the line into human trafficking.

Oh, slight update. I thought it was three siblings the foster mom was taking care of. It's not. I only knew of the three by name. There are FIVE. Two are older and not in my friend's classes.

I'll pass this along. Much cheaper than moving countries.

You can't go buying kids. That's illegal.

Your friend needs to take a good witness with her. One that is credible in the community, but will back her story (lie in court) if ever needed.

You catch the mother ALONE. You tell her $10,000....all she has to do is say, "I have decided my kids would be better off if I signed the adoption papers."

Throw $1000 in her lap. Tell her there is $9000 more the day it is final. Keep your word on the money. She will go away happy.

Had a friend in a very similar situation. One day at the pediatrician's office she expressed her frustration. The pediatrician told her, "buy them off." She did. It works.

Pretty sure Belize would extradite for kidnapping.

She would 100% be begging for extradition to get out of a Central American prison.

There are cheaper, much more permanent options.

You go cheaper than $10,000 on a hit you're getting a rookie or a gang banger and a 90% chance of going down for an all day sentence.

That junkie will take the money. 10 grand to a junkie is like hitting the Powerball.

The biological mother has the right to do exactly what she did.

It sucks for the kids, but they are hers.

To a point. State can remove children if it’s in the best interest of the children. That’s a huge hurdle to overcome for the state to take away a mother’s rights as a mother, but they can if it’s bad enough.

Isn't that illegal as hell? Bio mom could take the money then turn the foster mom in also. Wouldn't be a smart move for adoption mom.
Bio Mom doesn't get the money until after all is said and done. You throw her some teaser money to whet her appetite.

After it's done you have plausible deniability. What is she going to do? Confess that she sold her kids?

Then she owes the foster family for child support during those years.

Lived in Central America for some years. Of all the nations to be locked up in, Belize is the one I would choose. Lovely country and English is their national language. Really more Caribbean than Central American.

And honestly I'll admit my own mistake, when I said Belize earlier I was thinking Bolivia because of Butch & Sundance.

All jokes aside. In 60 days those kids can be eating breakfast at her dining room table and with her name on their birth certificates. Nobody has to risk jail. $$$$$ talks.

It’s a genetic issue. The court puts such a priority on biologically being the parent. Biology has nothing to do with being a parent. It just means you had unprotected sex. The courts get this wrong in every state all the time.

Cops deemed the bio mom "not too high to care for children".

What a ridiculous statement. She should have been tested for drugs and arrested.

Yeah, CPS was called before the police. The bio mom kicked the CPS caseworker out of the house. CPS called the police. There was a gun in the home. Detroit's finest decided they wanted nothing to do with it and just left.

Of course, I'm getting one side of the story, but I got by the minute updates for five freaking hours Friday.

If you’re friend doesn’t want to buy her off, she can also just wait it out knowing that the kids will eventually end up back with her since it’s clear bio mom won’t actually be a mom

While it may seem like this is a racial problem, it's not really one. Of course in Detroit you will have some black activist judge saying crap like that. But even if they were both the same color it would be the same. The state wants the kids to go back to the biological mother. They say this explicitly also.

This is the reason I would never agree to foster children. The percentages are too high that you will attach to the kids and get their lives turned around only to have them get shipped back to their druggie mom who will abuse them a year or so until the state finally picks them up again to place them in another foster home for a year or 2. All the while the same state paying you to watch those kids will be doing everything they can to get those kids back to bio parent. If you can't handle the heartache of seeing kids go and their lives destroyed that you attached to, then don't foster. It's that simple.

I think your friend would be better off bribing or even worse somehow getting some bad/laced fentanyl in her hands before running to Belize. I couldn't imagine life on the run with kids who didn't look like you or even just kids.
