Fall weddings in 2020

I have a couple friends who had to move their weddings from April & May to October.
I know they were really bummed to move their big day once. What is the chance they will have to move it again? Both weddings are likely around 150-200 people & in Louisiana. I simply don’t know if they will allow crowds of that size then or not. Here’s to hoping they will.
To anyone getting married during this time, I feel for you, this sucks.

Imagine if they’re good Baptists. 5 to 6 month wait...

It’s a good question. I’d say it’s probably moot to try and guesstimate until the governor moves us into phase 1 and then so on. However, I’d say regardless of how much things open in the next few months, if there’s another flood of the virus in the fall as expected, there’s a good chance shite is going to lock down again with the quickness — now that the cat is out of the bag on that as an option. Sadly.
We had a bunch of events and concerts from March, April and May that got rescheduled to October. Hoping there’s some chance they happen but not too hopeful. This shite is weird.

Fall weddings in the South not a great idea. Should be safe and push it past college football season

If they are really planning on spending the rest of their lives together waiting a few months shouldn’t be that hard.

Why don’t they just get the justice of the peace or a minister to marry them? Then once everything settles down have a celebration.

I hear you, but they have moved it to October — roughly 6 months of waiting, and they are afraid to have to push to 2021 and virtually have to wait a year.
Both have said they are likely to go get married at the justice of the peace if they have to move again and then wait to do the ceremony till they can have their day. Still sucks.
Also, both of the guys are die hard LSU fans, they both chose Friday’s in October to not inconvenience anyone on Saturday for the game.

I think as time goes by people will realize what a HUGE OVERREACTION and mistake this whole thing has been and this shite won't happen again in your lifetime !

I’m ordained to do weddings. I’m about to stick a sign in my front yard for all those who had their wedding date cancelled. They can invite however many can fit in my secluded back yard.
$150 and they gotta be off my property after 30 minutes

So in the same sentence you went from “this is so overhyped” to “this is so rare none of us will ever see this again”.

Good point, it’s pretty easy to get a new venue, band, caterer, new save the dates for your guests etc. and just push it a a few months.
Exaggerated opinion but it’s not just as easy you would think to push it a few months for most people.

This is such a surreal time. I can't believe we're even having to have this discussion but it's a valid queestion.
In January, just think if someone would have suggested that an Chinese virus was going to sweep across America, cancelling concerts and professional sports, eliminating the right to hold a church wedding and reception for 100 of your family and friends.
We all would laugh at that person for 35 pages on here, or more likely, completely disregarded the OP as a fricking loon and ignore him for the rest of his TD career.

It’s completely nuts. Think about all the kids who were in their senior years of high school. Supposed to be a pretty memorable and fun time for them. Stuff like prom, maybe a senior trip, graduation ceremony. Nope.
It’s just so bizarre that the world just shut down. I mean, I get that it’s happened before a couple generations ago, but to be in this is just so damn bizarre.

They’ll have to move it again when everyone tells them they aren’t going to attend because it’s scheduled during an LSU game

Both scheduled their days in Oct for Friday’s. They know better than to do a Saturday during LSU season.

On the contrary. Now that the state and federal government knows how far they can push us, expect fear-driven pandemics to be more common.
