What the hell does the FAA know about space flight engineering? Or even NASA which still doesn't have multiuse rockets?

quote:

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said Friday that Elon Musk’s SpaceX must conduct more than 60 corrective actions before the next launch of its Starship Super Heavy rocket.

SpaceX must also keep its Starship rocket grounded until the 63 corrective actions are completed, the FAA said. The agency concluded its probe into the April 20 launch from Texas that resulted in Starship exploding after liftoff.

Federal agencies should use their resources to assist private enterprises that are working in conjunction with United States, not hamstringing them with red tape.

The left are so stupid. The payloads going to the ISS are planned six months in advance. If I were Musk, I would drag my feet on this until NASA is screaming bloody murder.

Could be clickbait. No idea if these “63” are material or not.

It's just the fedgov trying to get him to knuckle under on twitter and ukraine. Plus probably they don't like him showing that it's actually quite possible to have a real space program if fedgov isn't running/ ruining it.

Hence the FAA crackdown, DOJ complaint about not hiring "refugees," leak of the Ukraine story, etc. They can't have a guy who believes in merit and efficiency proving that it's still possible to make things that work when you follow those principles.

Absolutely nothing. The only people that understand it work for SpaceX. The Biden administration is simply trying to screw Musk.

The main issues were stuff SpaceX would have addressed whether the FAA was involved or not: The concrete under the launch platform being blown to shite, the loss of control of the vehicle and the fact that the detonation system didn't immediately destruct the vehicle.

Obviously it's important that the vehicle can be destroyed immediately if necessary.

SpaceX has solved a lot, if not all of those problems although how the new launch platform water deluge system will hold up under the full power of a a launch is yet to be seen.

Concrete issue can be resolved. Loss of control? Come on man, nasa shite landed haphazardly in the ocean. Detonation? How much useless shite have when sent into orbit that lingers there?

The concern for the FAA is not that a rocket winds up in the ocean or as space debris. Their concern is a loss of control that causes the rocket to hit a populated area.

Elon himself identified the need to fix those systems immediately after the launch. I doubt the FAA is asking SpaceX to do much (if anything) they aren’t already working on.

Does anyone else notice how things in our culture are getting strangely similar to "Atlas Shrugged"?
Just wondering.
