I would look into ketosis and fasting.

Sure it is not looked upon very favorably yet, but more and more studies are slowly but surely starting to try ketosis in treatments.

Nevertheless, there are other options. The Raw Milk diet is one that used to be used in sanitariums in days past for all sorts of illnesses. There is another cancer treatment that has been outlawed in the US so they have centers in Mexico for it, but I forgot what it was called.

Just a quick example of Raw Milks potential
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20053771

A complex of human alpha-lactalbumin and oleic acid (HAMLET) was originally isolated from human milk as a potent anticancer agent. It kills a wide range of transformed cells of various origins while leaving nontransformed healthy cells largely unaffected both in vitro and in vivo. Importantly, purified alpha-lactalbumins from other mammals form complexes with oleic acid that show biological activities similar to that of HAMLET. The mechanism by which these protein-lipid complexes kill tumor cells is, however, largely unknown. Here, we show that complex of bovine alpha-lactalbumin and oleic acid (BAMLET), the bovine counterpart of HAMLET, kills tumor cells via a mechanism involving lysosomal membrane permeabilization. BAMLET shows potent cytotoxic activity against eight cancer cell lines tested, whereas nontransformed NIH-3T3 murine embryonic fibroblasts are relatively resistant. BAMLET accumulates rapidly and specifically in the endolysosomal compartment of tumor cells and induces an early leakage of lysosomal cathepsins into the cytosol followed by the activation of the proapoptotic protein Bax. Ectopic expression of three proteins known to stabilize the lysosomal compartment, i.e. heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70), Hsp70-2, and lens epithelium-derived growth factor, confer significant protection against BAMLET-induced cell death, whereas the antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2, caspase inhibition, and autophagy inhibition fail to do so. These data indicate that BAMLET triggers lysosomal cell death pathway in cancer cells, thereby clarifying the ability of alpha-lactalbumin:oleate complexes to kill highly apoptosis-resistant tumor cells.

There is no market. The third and fourth parties between the consumer and provider destroy natural market forces.

Sad thing is we all will likely face a similar situation in our own lives or a loved one's life at some point in our lifetime. Our entire medical system sucks arse.

False. The reason why we pay so much is a lack of govt intervention.

ok there, Skippy. Government has been all up in that shite for decades.

When you go to a restaurant with a deep pocketed friend who says "I've got the tab," and there are no prices on the menu, what happens to the bill? Is it more or less than when you order alone?

We can look at absolutely every area of the economy that the government steps in to and see the exact same thing. College tuition is just one example. Explain to me how government intervention has not sent tuition skyrocketing.

I'm not the one who has my brain twisted by someone else. You have been "taught" that government is the answer.

A buddy of mine invented a simple finger devise to allow for a longer use of disposable pulse oximeter probes. It was basically a molded piece of lexan. Since it was for hospital use, it needed FDA approval. After a few years of trying to get it approved, he ran out of money and just said frick it and took the loss..

The US has one of the fastest approval processes in the world.

Maybe there was something wrong with his product.

But WHY is it 15k?

Someone else is paying for it. There is no market, so costs go out of control. Throwing the government in the mix makes it even worse.

I’ve heard the trials needed for FDA approval are a huge contributor to these costs and do little to prove the drug is safe more so than the tests done during Developement

That really sucks baw. Blame the FDA. Call the local News and have them do a story on how horrible the health coverage is. If it makes Fon News or CNN, the insurance company will cover it so they don't take a huge blow to their corporate brand.

For the expensive cancer treatments the US is actually a pretty good place to be. For literally everything else you’re worse off than in almost every other first world country and you pay more. There are a number of reasons though, but basically across the board for drugs, insurance and treatment we pay more in the US than anywhere else.

1. Costs a lot of money to research and develop drugs. Not to mention the countless hoops to jump through thanks to overregulation.

2. FDA squashes competition.

3. United States essentially subsidizes the drug prices for Europe and most of the third world. Europe has price controls and third world has little money so companies charge what they can and make up the deficit by shafting US citizens

Insurance, medical supplies / scans, and pharma in the US, are all scams. It's laughable. I was charged $4000 for a fricking CT scan for a kidney stone. They will continue to steal our money as long as politicians enable them to.
