I'll jump in. I love a vest. It's not designed for 20 degrees snowing, but sunny 40's where a jacket is just too much, but a vest is there to keep that core warm. When the core is warm, you don't really notice the arms as much.

Now when I'm working in the yard and it's really cold, long sleeve t, hoodie, vest. Man that's perfect. Can still maneuver around, warm as heck, and you have the layers to strip just in case.

Your core stays warm and you still have a lot of room for activities.

Might not be cold enough for a full-sleeved jacket.

Have to have a Patagonia custom embroidered one to make sure everyone in NY and SF knows you work in finance.

Pretty big fan of vest playing disc and regular golf. I appreciate the full range of motion.

When we had snowfall here a couple years back, I was in a long sleeve t-shirt after working outside for 30 minutes

I’m sure there will be plenty of excuses in here but 90% of dudes that wear them do it because either they or more likely their SO thinks they’re super cute

keeps your body core warm while keeping your pits from sweating.

if you are working its great having the arms free and unincumbered but it doesnt keep you as warm, but again, if you are working then arms staying warm isnt a problem you have

The perfect combination of form, function, and fashion. I definitely look cute in a sweater, vest and scarf. Don't hate.

All I know is you must have ostrich skin boots and a pair of way too expensive sunglasses hanging around your neck or they don't let you buy one in the store.

More guys wearing this are with an OT 8+. Hate if you want, but hurry, he's leaving in his lifted f250 platinum.

Keeps your core warm, which is the most important thing. It's also less material and less restrictive. It also makes you look a little older/more mature, so the wife will really dig it.
