If you think hard drugs should be legal you're a moron.

Government cannot find a way to tax drugs/ prostitution. If they really cared about our health cigs would be outlawed, but tobacco has many ties to the government keeping it legal.
This is as wrong as it gets. They tax drugs in Colorado, dumbass. They'd certainly be able to tax hooking if it were legal. Cigarettes aren't about our health or taxes. It's a matter of choice. If it were about taxes, they'd be encouraging people to smoke more, buy more, and pay more taxes. As for the tobacco lobby, they haven't exactly had success against smoking bans and advertising regs. So I'd say they're not as powerful as you think

Agreed but making the act illegal restricts the "slaves" ability to seek assistance. Make it legal and then they can start fighting for workplace issues in the open.

The only reason to do drugs and prostitution is to be cool, and we already have cigarettes for that. So there's no need for them.

It's all based off of morals. Our country was founded on a strict set of religious morals that have slowly been fading since its birth. The governments job i.e. its police power is to promote the general welfare and the health of it's citizens. By not allowing drugs and prostitution the government believes it is protecting our society from degradation. Although some people may believe their civil liberties are being violated by not having the legal choice to partake in these matters, eventually the governments police power will overcome our civil liberties.
If you want to get high and get hookers go to North Korea. I hear it is awesome there

I could be persuaded to have weed legalized. Not my cup of tea but I wouldn't be up in arms if it got legalized.
Now prostitution. I have asked this question many of times as to why it's illegal. Just because it's immoral shouldn't make it illegal. Hell it's immoral to lie but that's not illegal. Prostitution is one person paying another for sex. So interaction and contact between two individuals. Stupid that that's illegal to me. Hell make it legal and tax the frick out of it.

Premarital sex is also immoral. Should we legalize that as well?

The TV industry would collapse. I mean, what would happen to all the cop/detective/csi shows if two of their primary story lines–sex and drugs–were made legal?

Uh, yes it is. Perjury much?

Not a crime.
I'm not sure what it is, but definitely not illegal.

Alcohol is the deadliest drug there is. It kills more people directly and indirectly per year than the harder drugs.
This is a ridiculous claim.
How about you provide an actual statistic proving this point. You know, one that shows per capita usage results comparable across different drug streams? Too many people claim this in regards to alcohol, on a purely numerical basis with no statistical analysis whatsoever on the actual data that matter.
I will bet anything that per capita from heroin kills a higher % of it's users and non-users than alcohol could even sniff.

Perjury is the criminal offense of lying under oath. A perjury charge may be brought when someone makes a false statement after being sworn in or promising to tell the truth in a legal situation. For instance, a person giving testimony on the stand during a court case who tells a lie may be charged with perjury.

IMO.....it's a slippery slope. But hey....
Is it really about this though?. I think the better (and more realistic) question we need to ask is why we do what we do?
I really feel bad for this world when this becomes our goal.

Not that I think that they should or should not be legal, but here's why it's good that they're illegal:
If prostitution were completely legalized, the police would be inundated with calls from pimps being stuffed by they hoes. If drugs were legalized, police would constantly be making house calls from paranoid stoners who are convinced that their landlords stole their weed.
Or, we can let it be illegal so our police can focus on policing nuanced situations involving real people.

I would like to see hardcore drugs legalized so that people who are dumb enough to do that shite will have an easier time killing themselves and leaving the rest of us to propagate the species without their sorry genetics that predisposed them to such idiocracy.

Assuming you actually believe in liberty and not just saying that you do, this is really the only correct answer.

That already happens with alcohol.
