Sorry about your friend.

OT docs can you clear this up? I assume serious means your awake etc but maybe not out of the woods.
Isn't on a ventilator "critical"?

What does this even mean? You want to collect the data yourself?

Go for it so you can be convinced. Maybe you’ll also stop believing the earth is flat after you measure the curvature yourself.

The Imperial College study every country is basing their shutdown on was quietly revised down by 96%. The same people run the Grantham Institute that creates “we’re all going to die” climate change models.

Take that for what you will.

This season’s positive test/death rate for the flu is 3.9%. The CDC assumes millions of cases to get to 0.02%.

Using the 1.5% death rate for Covid in the US is incredibly intellectually dishonest.

That’s more than enough to make you question things.

Well for one they said a 17 year old died of Coronavirus but the father said he died of heart failure. Basically LDH is counting any positive test of corona a corona death even if the patient came in with two .45 slugs to the chest.

You don't have to believe anything. There are people that don't believe in the moon landing, the Holocaust, 9/11, evolution, vaccines, and many other things.

It is your right as an American to be a coronavirus denier. Just don't go licking other people's food or coughing on strangers while saying you are infected - that is not within your rights. (Inducing public panic is illegal)

You should actually read the study instead of what the NYT thinks the studies say.

The original 500,000 number was based on doing NOTHING. Everyone go about your life as if Covid19 didn't exist and the WORST case scenario could see 500,000 deaths. Anyone is free to dispute that 500,000 deaths could feasibly occur in that scenario but that's a different topic.

The 20,000 death number is what their modeling shows could reasonably happen now that new measures have been put into place, namely a country wide lock down.

You and a bunch of other simps are completely mis-characterizing this new "prediction". If the imperial college came out and said "Whoops, nevermind. If we 100% reverse course and don't do ANYTHING to stop the spread or mitigate anything about this virus, we'll actually only have around 20k deaths, worst case scenario" you'd have a point. But you don't have a point because that's not what they said.

So you want people to link more studies and numbers that you just won’t believe....sounds like a huge waste of time

Is it really that hard to believe that .02% of America's population has been infected with a rampant global disease?

What is so outlandish about that?

It's like I said, it might be useful if he gave us some specific numbers that he didn't believe

I could see someone thinking that China/Iran might be fudging their numbers to not look incompetent

Covid-19 causes heart damage that can mirror heart attacks

I believe the numbers being reported, but I don’t believe in the significance of any of them except the total number of deaths. I don’t care about any of the percentages because of the limited number of tests that have been run.

Link references. Link studies.

How about you explain to me why I should waste my time explaining this to you?
