would you send them to a private catholic school just to make a social statement and fit in?
Scruffy would send them to the school that offered them the best pathway to success.

Anything less than that is unacceptable.

If it is a public school, they go there.

If it is a private school, they go there.

But you are in denial if you think a lot of people don’t send their kids there for race reasons and for social status reasons..
Dude, this is south LA.

Have you ever actually been outside of BR?

What do you think social status is down there?

He would clearly send his child to the school that has a 32% failure rate to make a social statement.

My godfather graduated from Lee HS in 81’. Back then everyone that lived in Southdowns all the way to Mayfair went there. It was a big, popular and good school (not cosmetically).

Well he had a uh-oh brother that was born years later, and graduated HS in 00’.

Do you think that he went to Lee HS?

HELL NAW.

Yes. As does the US Census Bureau.

You're aware that St Tammany is more than just Mandeville, right?

I started to read this garbage but quickly remembered the reason my parents sent me to Episcopal was because they love me more than your parents love you. That simple. Also, obligatory frick John Parker

We got a lot of Scotlandville bussers

We had a few at at Central.
The kids determine the quality of the school, not the administration. We had a thread here the other day about kids with private school vouchers not really scoring much better in private schools on the Leap test. Until they get better parenting no school will make a difference.

They will probably be killed for a stupid reason so good choice. Plus they wouldn’t be able to cook for shite.

The commute from the north shore to NOLA is nothing. Try doing Metairie to BR. Or pretty much any commute from outside the loop into Houston.

Those are all abysmal commutes. I don't know how anyone could do Katy to Houston 5 times a week and not hate their lives. If my gf and I end up having kids, we will definitely live in an area with a good public elementary school (not hard to find that at all), good public middle (still not too hard) and pay for private. The top regular public elementary schools in Houston are better than anything in Louisiana.

ETA: Pay for private for high school

Okay.. Slidell? I guess that might be considered part of metro Nola but the people I know that are actually from New Orleans don’t claim north shore or Slidell as part of the metro. Just my experience. People up there want to feel like it’s connected but it ain’t. If north shore is metro Nola then Lafayette might as well be metro br. It’s not much further.
