Sounds like you surround yourself with ignorance.

If north shore is metro Nola then Lafayette might as well be metro br. It’s not much further.
Well that's retarded. But I guess we shouldn't really expect much more of you.

Distance to the primary city center isn’t the only indicator of what defines a metro area. Movement of its residents within the area to work, entertainment, travel, is how MSA’s are defined.
But go spend a morning from 5:30 to 8am at the toll booth on the causeway and tell me otherwise.

For real: Zachary had 12 valedictorians a few years ago.

Who in their right mind would send their child to massively underperforming schools simply because they are public schools?
I wouldn’t be in that situation. I was mostly targeting the private schools in areas outside br and Nola. I used Lafayette as an example. If I was in lafy why wouldn’t I send them to public?

This isn't going to fit your narrative but some people do actually care about the religious education.

I mean, I consider a suburb a place you can be from downtown in like 20-30 mins. That’s how it works in most major cities I’ve seen in the country. Once again, someone questions something about the Louisiana way of life and you people jump on me like I just slapped your momma or something.

Suburbs go way beyond 20 minutes

Just stop.

You're being jumped on because you're being an idiot.

I agree. That’s good and I believe SOME people do. But you if you can’t at least admit there’s a lot of people across the state who use the system for other reasons then we’re never going to agree on anything.

Show me private schools that are segregated and I'll agree with you.

You don't believe they are segregated by financial status?
Posted on 7/14/18 at 12:35 am to LNCHBOX
Ask people who are born and raised in New Orleans. They do not consider the north shore part of their metro. I know that to be true in my experience. North shore is north shore. It’s nice and has some mighty fine PUBLIC schools

I wouldn’t be in that situation
Stop avoiding the question.
Do you think all those individuals who live in terrible school districts can just move?
Also, what is different between those who send their kids to private schools to avoid awful public schools and people like you who run away from awful public schools so that they can set up shop by the good public schools?
The answer: Nothing

Probably up to an hour in most cases. I grew up in Central and it would easily be an hour commute to Bluebonnet and Perkins in heavy traffic if you commuted from Gurney Rd. We live inside of the city limits 5 miles from my office and 20 minutes is the norm

Submit your CV to the Census Bureau since you have demographic movement patterns figured out.

No. We’re pointing out your incorrect statement that the New Orleans MSA, established by the Census Bureau, does not include St. Tammany Parish.

The school I went to wasn't. If you were smart enough to get in, aid was available for families that needed it.

I answered pages ago as to the original motives of private (not catholic) schools.
The motives for sending your kids to one today are vastly different to the original intent.
Race plays an incredibly small role in it these days.
