The seats have more leg room not arse room. Sorry for the rant. I’m with the poors flying commercial coach jammed against the window. I know most of you can’t relate.

Book earlier, I ain't saving no seat for you.

When I was still flying, we had to book our own flights through a Carlson-Wagonlit app/site that pretty much forced us to choose the cheapest economy flight out there.
It became an art to choose the flight that had more aisle seating available.

Exit rows are for people who buy tickets for those seats.

I'm 6'3 and have a janky right knee that needs to straighten out every so often.
for the 4 hour flight to vegas from atlanta few weeks ago I made damned sure we had exit rows.
It's always under $100 to upgrade to an exit row or the preferred/plus seats and sometimes it's free or $15.
Do it.

If flying alone I usually select window seat but I am short and can fall asleep before the plane is off the ground. I wake up on decent and am good to go.

That’s a great way to run off talent.
The fare probably is not upgrade-able too.
If so, my next flight would not be as an employee of those cheap bastards.

I'm in an exit row right now! It's almost like there is too much room.

I identify as tall. FU!

If extra row is for tall people, then seats next to skinny people are for fat people.

All you have to do is book it, what's the problem?

I did book it way in advance. I’m sitting in the exit row with my legs stretched out. The two people sitting next to me, with their legs dangling, need width not length. Oh well. Only an hour left.

I think our system was like that
The trick was to put a narrow window of time around the flight you wanted
Such as, if there was a 11am flight you wanted and there was a much cheaper one at 9am, you just put: Departure time 11am +/- 1 hour.
