The murder conviction for Aaron Hernandez has been vacated, a judge ruled Tuesday.
The former New England Patriots tight end hanged himself in his prison cell on April 19 while serving a life sentence in the killing of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd.
His suicide came just five days after he was acquitted in a separate double slaying in 2012.
Hernandez’s appellate attorneys made their request under a long-standing legal principle in Massachusetts holding that when defendants die before their direct appeal is decided, their convictions should be vacated.

Does this have an impact on the $ the Patriots owe to his contract?
I've been wondering if he figured this was a way to provide his kids $ before it was all blackmailed out of him by fellow inmates...

It's a shame American's homophobia made him off himself.

That's an absolutely idiotic law.

The coffin won't seem nearly as bad now.

Yes. his girlfriend now gets the money. Hernandez referred to it in his suicide note.

On the bright side, he's still dead

yes... the Patriots are now obligated to pay him the money b/c he technically died an innocent man

Maybe that's what the (you're rich) part of his letter to his ole lady was alluding to.

If the Patriots do have to pay him, all the money will be lost in civil suits. Lloyd and the double murder victims will file civil suits and more than likely win in both cases because the burden of proof is less and Hernandez never really denied being at the double murder, just that he didn't do it. His estate is currently at $0 so the chances his family ever sees any money at all is almost 0%.

I guess he figured out a way to hang on to that signing bonus. I wonder if his boyfriend liked how he was hung?

I'd be surprised if this is true. Hernandez was cut from the pats when he was charged with murder, not after he was convicted.

That she can hand over to the lloyd family after a civil suit

I'm pretty sure a corrupt legal system and personal greed are what made him off himself.
His insecurities about loving cock are what made him off his friend and end up in prison.

probably a law that should be reviewed(pun intended,) accused drug traffickers have their assets frozen/handed over LE, convicted criminals supposedly can't profit from book/movie deals, he gets to preserve his estate by biting the bag, any hope of "restitution" to families of the vic(s)gone
