50 cal is pretty heavy to carry into a school and pipe bombs can be made at home.

We just discussed this sabes. They already can't keep up with background checks. If the govt can't make a decision in (I think it's 10 days - correct me if that's wrong) the person gets their firearm. If you enact this crap, gun sales will go through the roof and there will be a lot of people that shouldn't get guns that will by default because of the increased volume.
I don't get what's wrong with the current system - just enforce the laws and regulations that are already on the books. People like you and your restorative justice bullshite are the real problem. Put the assholes with illegal firearms away for a long time. Things will change.

If it's in the inventory of our military, it should be also available to the general public. PERIOD.

Ah, the ole circular leftist dance. "You don't like socialism, what about the police force?"

No one believes fully auto weapons should be legal,
If you want to go back to the original intent of the 2A, it's to permit a citizen militia to provide a meaningful check upon the government's power. Obviously, the framers could not conceive of stinger missiles or nuclear warheads, but their intent was to place average citizens on equal footing with the government in terms of weaponry. On that basis, the 2A should protect rights of citizens to own/possess/use the biggest/baddest weapons out there.

this is true but will never happen unfortunately...defund the police, racism, lower the bar to a growing group of society that doenst value established societal norms

so you support no type of gun control measures at all? Your first post was about keeping them out of the hands of criminals… so, which is it?
Federal law states felons forfeit their rights to own guns - they should not have them by law. If you are not a felon, you still have your right to own a gun.
I’m not really sure what’s so unclear about that. Any other regulations for gun control that are made are going to be for citizens who can legally own guns - and that is not right.
Legal/illegal = absolutes
My first post was asking you to suggest regulations that will keep guns out of the hands of the people who shouldn’t legally have them anyway.

I could buy a 50 cal right now. They are heavy, expensive and the ammo isn't cheap, either. I still think it would be fun to shoot one at some point. I have no use for one, but some people enjoy shooting them. Can you illustrate a single major crime in American history that was committed with a 50 cal?

They are legal, though. They are just really expensive due to scarcity and also require a special tax stamp.

no one believes you should have one of those huge two hand guns mounted in the back of a F150 like the cartels
A handgun? Do you mean a Ma deuce? Those are legal too and you can mount it if you wish. Demo Ranch on Youtube is currently working on mounting one on top of his Toyota truck.
It's always the idiots that have no idea what is and isn't legal that think they speak for everyone yet have no idea WTF they are talking about. You are that idiot.

Any and all guns should be perfectly legal. Law enforcement doesn’t protect the citizens so it’s up to each person to defend themselves. There are so many guns in circulation that criminals will always have access to them.

Isn’t that what injured Scott on Kentucky Ballistics?
(Not that that’s a crime)

IIRC you can also legally own grenades. That is if you can find any to buy. Again, they are like fully auto weapons and are expensive due to scarcity in the civilian market
quote:
Grenades are considered to be Destructive Devices under the National Firearms Act, and require a $200 tax stamp and other standard NFA requirements to acquire them

Rich people can legally buy pre-ban full autos because they're fricking expensive since all the legislation did was cut supply
All it affected was the poor, just like the NFA

Serious question for anyone who can answer. Does Baton Rouge and/or New Orleans have a gun unit within their police force? A unit who strictly goes after illegal guns.. illegal gun dealers?

Is that the type of gun where it takes two hands to shoot it and it’s mounted on the back of a pick up truck? Like the cartels use to bully the government into letting El Chapo’s son out of prison? Imagine the devastation some insane incel could cause with that?
They are legal to own, dummy
