First legit OT flex I've seen in a good minute

Didn't really think of it as a flex. It's pretty cool to have that much control over the car.

Ask for a bunch of free hotel nights.

As an aside, I never valet my car. I've heard too many stories. Not that my car is anything special, it's more of the pain in the arse factor when they inevitably frick something up. Plus I hate waiting 20-30 minutes for them to find my car.

Reminds me of an old GT-R story. One of Switzer's customers had a big power (for the time 1700whp) and was getting it shipped back from Ohio to him in NJ. Well the evening the car was supposed to come the truck driver kept blowing him off. Finally the guy said "meet me at shopping center and come get the car" So he goes and he gets in the car and notices it's way too warm to just have been moved off the trailer a few feet and the car has less than a half tank. Switxer always sent the car with a full tank of E98. But its winter, cold, late at night and he just heads home. The next day the trans shits 3rd gear out of nowhere (built box of course PPG gears.) So he thinks about the night before and they pull the Syvecs logs and find out the driver had taken the car off the trailer earlier that night and had done like 7+ 190-200 pulls on the highway back to back to back. He waited for a bit and called them to pick up the car. He eventually admitted it i think but getting anything out of those guys is impossible.

I don’t ever valet either. It happened to be raining when I showed up. That’s the only reason. Never again

Honestly that’s really annoying, but your entire stay was comped and the car is perfectly fine. I’d insist the valet get fired and move on.

I once valeted a 95 geo tracker and the motherfrickers put 13 miles on it at the Omni.

How retarded do you have to be to do that in a shitbox?

Alternately we pulled up to the waldorf either last year or the year before around 3 am on halloween. Liqour bottles and cans falling out of the suv as we piled out. Valet says, "I got you"

Checked out a few hours later and he had detailed the car

Had this happen at a Marriott in NOLA last year. They couldn't FIND my car. I eventually located it on a surface lot a block from the hotel. Unlocked. Amazingly nothing was stolen. The valet had quit in the middle of his shift the night I checked in. They couldn't find him or get a number to try and locate my keys. Marriott wouldn't do shite since the valet service was a contractor. I had to get a buddy to drive me the extra key fob from BR to the CBD. The valet company eventually paid for a new key fob from the manufacturer.

No damage to my car and they comped my stay. An “investigation” is still going on and they are emailing me updates. What does the OT think I should do, if anything?

The Top Cat cartoon in the 60's had a cartoon where the cats did valet parking out front, then rented the cars out back.

I used to regularly stay at the Westin in Dallas. I would give the valets and bellhops good tips. So, when I would valet park my Chevy Lumina (with about 350k miles at the time), they would leave it out front (where the other cars were all high dollar cars). It was comical to see the hunk of shite Lumina out there with the Ferrari's and Mercedes.

That sucks. The valet here was also contracted out. They were about to tow my car to the dealership and have another key made when they finally tracked them down. The problem is my house key was also on the ring and they could easily hit home on my GPS to see my home address.

That suuuuuucks. I'd be livid. Nothing like a 15k trans repair bill and another few months without the car because Shep takes forever.

Same goes with dropping your car off for service. It's a good idea to have the service writer document the current mileage before the keys are handed over. Most reputable shops have no problem doing this as it protects them against false claims as well.

Dealership employee took my last car down airline and just ripped it loose, GM gave me 5 $100 bills. I don't know if he would have done it if there weren't a 1/2 dozen employee witnesses. Oh, they fired that dude too, he was one of the few that could drive a standard. My car was very unique, I don't know what he was thinking. It was a low production track pack car...

That's quite a few miles.
Not like he just went around the block to his dealer. He took your car to...... dude he probably fricked in your car.
Was his name Dirty Mike?

He made several more stops. Another at Armstrong park. Either fricking or dealing. Either is not ideal
