Average Annual Salary
The salary of rodeo clowns can vary, depending on which events they work and how skilled they are at the job. According to Career Search, a median salary for 2011 was about $51,000. Rodeo clowns with the most skills demand higher salaries, with the top clowns making six figures. Rodeo clowns on a regular circuit may demand top rates as opposed to those who only work a few dozen shows a year

I’ve actually done this in my younger days. Didn’t pay well. Actually I got paid nothing.

I have thought about it. But that was 15 years ago and I was trying to find a job that would go well with my opiate addiction. Probably for the best that I never followed through.

Never.

Thought about riding a bull, but didn't. Never went back to where I could have either.
Those rodeo baws took my hat. I didn't care, because I didn't have to ride the bull!

Yes. I couldnt make the cut. But....

Close friend of mine in high school did it professionally for years while in the Air Force. He graduated the year after me and came from a very nice family. Jeremy Sparks is his name from a very small town in south Arkansas. Actually Joe Jackson--Michael Jackson's dad--was born there.

I ramble. I am sorry.

My wife's grandfather was once a rodeo clown. The man lived quite the life. He lost much of his hearing in WWII in a plane crash. He was a rodeo clown, a SWC football official, and according to him, he invented portable toilets. He just didn't have the foresight to patent it.

I don't think they like to be called clowns anymore.
