'Zero applicants':

Goodhue, Minnesota, a small town in the southeastern part of the state, lost its entire police force after the Chief and other members of the force handed in their resignations.
"I think we're all a little bit blindsided by it, but we're resilient and we're going to move forward," Goodhue Mayor Ellen Anderson Buck told Fox 9.
"I want to reiterate that we will have police coverage in the city of Goodhue," Buck said. "That is not an issue."
Police Chief Josh Smith, who will continue to serve in his position until Aug. 24, told city officials that he could not find anyone to sign up to join the police force.
"This has been three weeks now, we have zero applicants, and I have zero prospects," Smith said on July 26. "I’ve called every PD around for the youngest guys out there, getting into the game. There's nobody getting into the game."
"If you want to keep the PD, and this is something we want to continue going with, something needs to change dramatically and drastically, and it's got to happen now."
One Goodhue City council member praised the police force for maintaining law and order in the town of Goodhue.
"I can probably speak for everyone when I say that they provided excellent safety and security to our community. And the small town policing that they did, we want that back."
Police Chief Smith also told the Goodhue city council that the police force was losing on recruitment numbers because of low pay and competition from larger cities.

I mean, it certainly sounds like a bit of an issue.

Sounds like they tried that in a small town

They deserve it.

I read the whole article and I didn't see any liberalness. I did see a reference by the police chief to low pay, and positive comments about law enforcement by the mayor and a council member.

Sounds like Minnesota’s defunding of the police is going exactly like they want it.

There's still the sheriff and state police.

You forget this is the OT and only the left can cause issues

Is this a partial or a complete description of the police chief's explanation?
We're at the point in media lies and half truths where the framing and incomplete description of the truth leads readers to conclude something wildly different from the truth. Because the writer intentionally withheld some of (or most of) the most important information.

I have no idea what the political makeup of that county is. What I do know is that some people see every problem as the fault of those they disagree with politically. And those are sad people.

I’m not saying that only the left can cause issues….but everything the left does causes issues.

Goodhue County voted Republican, 56.1% to 41.2% in the last Presidential election. It's a conservative leaning area. Cops resigned over pay. Doesn't hurt to do a little research first.

It's Fox News. If they were going to spin it, it wouldn't be in that direction. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Goodhue was paying cops $8 less than surrounding areas.

That's possible.
But what synchronized the departure of the whole department? If there's a nearby city that pays noticeably better then that would explain the all at once thing.
The typical problem with low paying jobs is a constant loss of the best employees but the retention of your worst employees no one else wants to hire.

Try that in a small town

So you are truly asserting this would have happened if you psychos had NOT pushed to defund police? Seems you might have some cognitive dissonance issues. Thanks for playing the poster boy for dumbs.
