Entergy, I fart in your general direction. I didn’t just drop 10k on my home A/C system to run it at near-sweating levels. Sounds like a problem you need to figure out, not me.

Unfortunately it is your problem. Monopolistic utilities can and will make it all your problem. Pay now, pay later or don’t have power. That’s how it works.

My power just went out in Gonzales/prairieville. I wonder if we got the blackout or if it’s just the usual shitty infrastructure to blame?

This. I don't have to like it but it is what it is. It is going to be much more uncomfortable having no power at all than it is not keeping your house like a meat locker. At least they are trying to warn you ahead of time. I agree it sucks.

This is the way. 78 during the day. Stay outside most of the time. Down at night.
In terms of straining the power grid and your electric bill, this is the worst thing you can do.

If we hadn't gone all "nuclear so bad wind solar good" we might at least have local grid sized nukes by now.

Wouldn’t that suck if they pulled the plug during the LSU game.
PSA: Tiger Rant runs an in-game updated game thread if you lose power but still have internet access for a mobile device.

Why would they just not stream the game on their device in that case? Idiot.

People will read this, not listen, and still be mad when the power goes out.

People will read this and be okay with turning their air up for the greater good and chastise those who dont, just like they masked up for the greater good and chastised those who didnt.

73 day, 69 or 70 night. Always. If they cut power, they cut power.

No. This actually is a matter of science, there are load limits that are a matter of generating capacity.

This isn’t a matter of greater good, just simply understanding physical limitations. I don’t care so much that people turn their air up or down, it’s just annoying when people complain about outages when they refuse to understand why they happen.

It’s more like complaining about being stuck in traffic during rush hour than anything related to masks.
