Jesus. Ours is at 72 at night and it's cold.
My in laws keep theirs on 82 during the day and 78 at night. He complains if his bill goes over $150.

Isn't it amazing how our parents, grandparents and great parents would see how fat, soft and giant poon-nannies we are. 78? With air conditioning? People have gotten so weak.

I agree. The house my great-grandfather built had no air conditioning and half the windows did not have screens. For over 100 years my family survived in a house with no air-conditioning. Fans, trees, thick curtains, sitting outside in the shade and not being wussies is what you need.

I went through grade 12 with no ac in any school. My grandparents never had ac, just an attic fan. Not only was it brutal to visit them during the summer, they also made me cut the yard with a reel mower.

Comfort at home is not where I want to worry about cutting costs.

Those of you that set it in the 70s at night must enjoy waking up with swamp arse every morning.

80 in the day, 77 at night. We aren't fat. All porcelain floors and high ceilings helps, tremendously.

The only people I know in the South that keep their home at 78+ degrees are over 70. My wife is pretty damn skinny and would stab me in my sleep if I kept the house at that temp

In a few years, the headline will be “Entergy explains why they set your smart thermostat to 78° this summer”.
It’s different if it’s something we can’t really control…
If they want it on 78 but we can control it, it’s one thing, but if we can’t, then you don’t worry about how warm it is. 78 still feels better than what it is outside

Unless you are Nigerian 78 is warm inside

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language identifies room temperature as around 20–22 °C (68–72 °F),[1] while the Oxford English Dictionary states that it is "conventionally taken as about 20 °C (68 °F)".[2] The ideal room temperature may vary by place and culture; studies from Nigeria show a comfortable temperature range of 26–28 °C (79–82 °F), comfortably cool 24–26 °C (75–79 °F) and comfortably warm 28–30 °C (82–86 °F).[3]

this guy is a hypocrite because no one. I mean no one sets AC at 78. No one. I should sue him for lying.

Yea not doing 67. 67 degrees isn't a comfortable temperature at home. 70-73 degrees is.

Set at 72 to 74 in the summer depending on cloud cover and / or rain, 70 at night.
Return from a 2-3 day fishing trip and the wife has it set at 67 all day and night.
