I’ve been running 74. It’s not terrible at all. Wouldn’t do 78 though.
Mine stays at 75 because I’m comfortable with it there. It’s not going any higher, though.

Any degree below (78) can actually raise your bill as much as 3%. So if you’re cranking your A/C down to 72 degrees, you’ve already increased your electricity bill by 18% that month,” Diggs-Miller said.
oh no, not $30 a month to stay comfortable instead of miserable.
You might as well not even use an AC if you're going to set it at 78.
Shut the hell up and don't tell me what to do with my money, just give me my damn electricity that i pay you for and don't bitch about me giving you more money.

I’m inside a lot of homes in New Orleans on a daily basis and can tell you they keep their thermostats at 85* to off, throughout the summer. ALL OF THEM!
I’m not talking about Lakeview, or rich Uptown, I’m talking about NEW ORLEANS.
It’s brutal being in there for 20 mins to an hour, depending on the nature of the call. But I can tell you every smell is magnified in that kind of heat, and it’s glorious.
It’s cool though, usually the large framed picture of Obama’s wedding picture, hanging on the wall, distracts me.
If I’m lucky they might have a box fan, clogged with dust, circulating that thick hot air around in my face, to keep me alert.
My favorite : Mee Maw who’s been decomposing for 4 days in it.

Ok so if my bill at 78 degrees is $200 a month, I’ll gladly pay an extra $36 to keep it at 72. frick you.

You should invest in a dehumidifier.

Im in Alabama but mine is set at 71. I did add a dehumidifier in my bedroom that seems to make it feel cooler there. That sucker has a steady stream of water discharge.

Not the boss of me and Entergy should mind it’s own ducking business

I'm not sure what electric bill price point would cause me to set ours to 78 but it's at least 4-5x what it currently costs during the summer

The little kids were playing outside and the 7 year old came in and said ‘it’s too hot for clothes’

I’ve been having AC problems over the last month and each side of my house has gotten to 78 during this on separate occasions.

I figure that it costs me $10 per day to keep my AC at 72 during the day and 65 at night. What am I going to save if I sweat in my house at 78 degrees? Maybe $3 per day or $100 per month. I would pay that just to watch two knats frick.

Entergy recommends setting your thermostat to 78° this summer to save money
We set it at 78 when we’re not home though. Goes down to 74-75 when we get home in the afternoon and 70-71 at night to sleep.

You’re an idiot that’s an article from last year. Natural gas on the spot market is a quarter of the price it was in February 2022.
