End of an era: Beth Claybourn Interiors

Can someone refresh my memory or have some solid inside information?
I know her late husband's caregiver had him change his will (he was incapacitated). A friend of mine said Beth lost everything and is now forced to sell her store (the property must be worth a fortune at I-10 and Highland). How could that happen? If he changed his will (and he died first), wouldn't her share of the community property be protected? How could a judge side with the caregiver?
Who's got the skinny?

Was this what a thread a week or so ago was about? contested will/incapacitation?
I saw the going out of business sign and was shocked.

He cannot give away her share of the community property.

If they were legally married at his time of death, and he hadn't filed for divorce, she can't get "cut out".
Thst said, just how hot is ol Beth?

3.5 mil and it’s already been sold

I had no idea what that place was until I saw the signs on my way to work and looked it up
ETA: just googled it and a New Orleans subreddit was one of the first things that popped up.

Gas station? Circle K, Taco Bell, McDonald’s? What’s coming?

Rich dudes love prenups and trust funds, so true community property could be limited.

Nothing wrong with a pre-nup, or trusts.
Did she help earn it?

Are the people who might be offended by that (show me where she's factually incorrect) going to Beth Claybourn for interior design work?

I don't have a horse in that race.

I was just saying yesterday that would be a nice building for a high end restaurant.

Not sure but hopefully none of that and hopefully not a canes

if they were still married, how did this caregiver think that she could pull off this scam?
Pretty ballsy of her to give herself a 50% stake in Beth's interior design business.

Her family came from old money, I think Mississippi. Most of it was put into a trust for her son by her dad. She missed out on most of it.
