Unfortunately that is not how magnetic poles work. The planet needs an active core to generate a magnetic field.

Until the come up with a way to keep an atmosphere in place (ie electro magnetic field) it really doesnt matter how you go about putting gases into the atmosphere. It's all gonna get blown away anyway.
With nukes youll just end up with radioactive land and no atmosphere. And all the gases you realeased will just blow away into space.

It could be that his brain runs so fast than his mouth cant keep up. If at a young age he was told about it he may be trying to consciously slow his speech down.
I only say that because that's how my head works so when I speak to people I have to purposely slow down and depending on the topic I may speak faster or slower.

Well shite! The Core taught me all you need is an unubtanium cigar tube and a few nukes to jump start a planets core!
