He tried to back out of the deal. He was taken to court and forced to pay his bid price. Not exactly the actions of someone acting on principle rather than financial interests.

Advertisers have left Twitter in droves. It's a vanity project at this point. All his lil' fawning followers hanging from his nut hairs after every post he makes. It's embarrassing.

Twitter worthless. Tesla collapsing. Grok a non-starter and WAY behind all competitors. SpaceX is about all he has at this point that's worth a damn.

Zero chance Elon uses someone else’s OS. I can’t wait to have my Starlink Sat phone.

AI is trending in an evil direction for mankind

When greed is the primary driver, the results are usually an evil direction for mankind.

The least of it will be the majority of the workforce transforming into a computer practically overnight and the economic fallout that follows. The worst could be human extinction. It's incredibly foolish, all-around. But...tech uber alles.

Never said he bought it to be a big money maker for him or needed it to be. But he 100% did not buy it and plan/want it to be one of the biggest financial losses in history. You're just being obtuse if you think he's perfectly happy with that. There's a reason he's cutting cost, cutting jobs, and tried making paid blue check marks a thing.

Look at it as a gift and not as a money maker and then you will understand.

There's nothing I'm not understanding. It being a gift to people like you and me doesn't matter. As far as keeping that company relevant and thriving, it needs to be a place that more than just one group of people want to go to. He needs people that actually bring eyeballs and money to the site and so far, he hasn't done a good job at doing that. We can like the content better since he took over all we want, but X is taking on water at a rate that we can't even wrap our minds around.

And you missed the point of that. The goal wasn't to get out of the deal. The goal was to expose the bots and the proliferation of propaganda. He did that. Who reported "he tried to back out of the deal"? The same MSM he bought twitter to expose? How'd they report the "Twitter Files" and the exposing of the bots? A whisper even? Coincidence? That's how propaganda works.
Dissenters that "hang from his nut hairs after every post" would be just as embarrassing as the fanboys, no? Ying and yang

That was clearly nothing more than an excuse, the ONLY possible out his lawyers told him he had was accusing Twitter of misrepresentation. He failed to win and was stuck with the company.

The Twitter files was a bunch of recycled conspiracy theories presented as facts by idiots like Mr. Russia himself, Matt Taibi.

It was more complex than that. He did error in offering too much too early and tried to lower it. However, this was not offered lightly. He also knew if he offered too little they could sell to another party, or argue it was worth more than hs offer (even if not, just to delay it), so it was complex in that regard (he wanted Twitter badly).

All these reports of losing massive money can you post one credible recent financial report? He is losing money but not as much as being said. X is growing every month. At first neither side trusted it but over the long haul both are seeing its value. There are no mass censorship on either side and people are seeing that play out over time. And is why its growing.

And now he is going to hide likes. The number of likes will still up but you can’t see who liked it. This prevents doxing. Remember the Nascar driver Gregson was suspended a race due to a X like. And many more examples

That's not what he told the banks that gave him the money he needed to close the deal.

I'm as big an Elon fan as anyone, but it was a bad deal financially. The one thing he has done is not bail on his debt service, which would be suicide for all his companies.

I mean Elon himself tweeted that X has a negative cash flow and that advertisement (which is where they make 90%) of their money was down 50%. Most likely down more now. It had a 11% drop in revenue from 21 to 23 and 23% drop from 22 to 23. with only 3.4 billion in revenue Projections are it will be worse this year.

"All these reports of losing mass money" is pretty easy to check. Completely scrubbing Twitter from the internet and the URL even being X now is not going to help. X isn't in a good place financially at all.

Interesting, as the years have gone on, I’ve only gained more and more respect for Elon.

Imagine how selfless one must be to willingly lose billions of one's own money to save our society from blatant propaganda and censorship. Its downright heroic.

Yea I mean I'm not arguing what he is doing is good or not. I like Elon. I'm just saying financially he's virtually running it into the ground.

So X hasn't changed over the years, nice to see.
