The launches he was doing down in the Kwaj islands in the early 2000's were like - all of his money. He had enough for a few more and he had this "I made money before, if I lose it all I will just make more money again". Who would do this? Oil barons make billions and then just sit on it. They buy football teams. They buy the Dallas Mavs. shite like that. They don't do anything worthwhile with the money. They buy yachts. They become just worthless money hoarders.

He had a vision.... took an incredible risk and it paid off handsomely and ushered in a new era of private space flight and satellite internet. He has even MUCH more loftier ambitions based on the reading of the IPO prospectus but now that risk is going to be shared by passive investors. I dont think folks are crazy to be cautious and concerned at this point.

What is affordable to you? Should government define “affordable”? Explain.

As a TRILLIONAIRE You could spend about:

$54.8 million every single day for 50 years

or $2.28 million every hour

A human could not feasibly do this.

We're getting more innovation and return on that spend now than we ever were with NASA. Thus the reason we're now using SpaceX.

Ever were with NASA? Like the entire history of NASA...you think we got more innovation from Space X..

And even in the past decade...the basic science research NASA has conducted with projects like the JW telescope have been remarkable. Musk is putting to good use and expanding on tech that incredibly brave men died testing and pushing the limits of humanity's technical ability 60 years ago. Your statement is incredibly short sighted

Also NASA is Space X's customer. Just like all the other aero space companies that contributed to space flight since the beginning. You guys act like Space X is the first private company to be involved in sending men and material to space.

He'd rather be a try-hard troll who will never be loved like he needs.

the answer to that is always private

Private grocery stores operate on razor-thin net profit margins of just 1% to 3%. Because individual stores rely on massive sales volumes to stay profitable, they make only a few pennies in net profit for every dollar spent at the register.

Grocery stores operate on some of the slimmest profit margins, but impressionable morons such as yourself buy the propaganda that they're somehow ripping people off.

So what will happen with this little communist experiment is:

1) It would cost taxpayers a tremendous amount of money to buy/build (vs $0 for private)

2) The store will be incredibly expensive to stock/run/maintain (again, taxpayers)

3) Because it does not have to worry about being profitable, it can sell its items at a loss (again taxpayer funded)

4) In doing so it will force other local bodegas and grocery stores out of business as they cannot run at a loss and compete at those prices

5) People will lose their jobs and the available supply will decrease (food desert, anyone?)

6) Bread lines...congrats comrade!

He needs to be loved but chooses not to do the thing you said he could easily do?

You may be confused.

No, his behaviors exhibit the giant hole where his soul should be. That is but one example of what he COULD do/be.

Just stay out of topics that are way above your thinking skills

Stock price and value aren't just about historical performance. Potential and investor expectations are huge drivers.

Oh and Tesla's profits come mostly from selling fake carbon credits.

Blame the Government for the BS credits.

These are regulatory/carbon credits that Tesla earns by selling EVs and then sells to other automakers that need help meeting emissions rules. Both of those things, the credits and the emissions rules, were created by Obama and company.

Yes, in 2025 carbon/regulatory credits were a big chunk of Tesla’s net profit, but that’s mostly because Tesla’s car margins got weaker, not because credits suddenly became the whole business.

Credits were about 53% of net profit, but only about 12% of gross profit. Big difference.

Also, Tesla actually made less from credits in 2025 than in 2024 about $2.0B vs. $2.8B but credits were 39% of their net in 2024.

Same thing in 2023: credit revenue was close to 2025 levels, but it was only about 12% of net profit because Tesla made way more money from the rest of the business.

So no, Tesla’s profits don’t “mostly come from carbon credits.” Credits helped a lot in a weaker year, but that claim is way oversimplified.

This. He's making some trips on a penis ship into outer space that we already accomplished in the 1960s. And people are acting like it's a big achievement.

Who knew we could catch rockets out of the sky and reduce the cost to launch them to mere pennies per payload pound in the 1960s? I must have missed that in the history books.

You are really eaten up with stupidity and are purposely being obtuse to downplay what he has contributed to society so far.

1. His net worth is mostly in stocks. The moment he starts selling off those prices collapse, and he has nowhere near $1 trillion. It's amazing you idiot progs can't grasp this.

2. Since the year 2000, the USA alone has spent roughly $500 billion on these two initiatives, yet all we are missing from 'solving" it is Elon's net worth?

3. Elon has told several people that if they can prove world hunger can be solved for $10 billion or more, then he would cut them a check. No one has taken him up on his offer.

4. You are a moron.
