The truth/falsity of the underlying disputes aside, how nuts is it that we live in an era where the world's richest man who is revolutionizing internet access, spaceflight, etc. is outright calling the current US administration treasonous and having real time public arguments about landing a relief helicopter with the US transportation secretary on the communication platform he owns?
The "nothing interesting is happening in our time" folks have had a rough few years from COVID to now (disease, wars, floods, assassination attempts, political intrigue, etc.)

Why don't some of these people trying to deliver supplies just land their helicopters and and ask for forgiveness later? Maybe some are already doing that.
Imagine how big a story it would be if SpaceX personnel were arrested for landing when not authorized and delivering supplies to people in need.

If this is true, I'm really surprised there haven't been shootings. Cutting off aide to a place as devasted as this seems like a very dangerous idea.

I said on Poli that i think a good bit of what we are seeing isn’t conspiracy to harm NC folks, but decades of nanny state thinking just having no concept of what to do when said nanny state isn’t effective enough to control the situation.
Our government has gotten less and less proficient even as it’s sought more and more control (see: secret service).

Getting arrested in a disaster area seems like an absolutely bananas thing to do.

This isn't uncommon unfortunately. They did something similar when Maria hit PR. I went down there and had a team from EagleView with me and we wanted to start flying to capture imagery and help with search and rescue, then we would post process the imagery to find damage to our assets and they grounded us for 3 weeks.
