But you can be swallowed up by one. Don't look for the video. Pretty horrific

There was also the woman who drowned in an elevator in 2002, during Tropical Storm Allison
when the underground garage at the Bank of America building flooded in downtown Houston. The elevator filled with water and she had no way out.

I got stuck n an elevator with an OT 2 after a night class in college.

We were there for only 25 minutes. Amazing response from the facilities group.

Has she been hot I’d have preferred longer.

Man, there's not a year goes by--not a year--that I don't read about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid that could've easily been avoided had some parent--I don't care which one--but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator!

Got stuck in a hotel elevator. They had loud music playing in it. When I hit the emergency button, I could not understand a word the woman said due to the shitty connection and the elevator music. Kept telling her I could not understand her, but I was trapped in elevator No. __ in ___ hotel.

I tried to call the front desk on my cell. When the computer answered and asked how it could connect my call, the fricking elevator music triggered it before I could speak, sending my call to oblivion.

Finally texted someone and had them contact the front desk, and a maintenance man let me out. He admitted it had happened a few times lately. I told him that I would rip out the speaker wires if I had it to do over, and they need to turn down the damned music.

I was in a parking garage elevator that started making a horrible grinding sound, then dropped 5 feet or so. I nearly shite myself.

I know there was a woman who got cut in half by a failed elevator at the Oschner Kenner hospital.
Was on a gurney at the time and the unit moved.

When I worked at the public library we had an elevator and ppl liked to piss in it

I don’t think it was ‘accidents’

My mom used to work at the plaza tower in NOLA-and it never lined up with the floor correctly

Escalators are no big deal unless they fall apart.
Every escalator dreams of becoming a wood-chipper. They will happily shred you into tiny pieces the instant they think they can get away with it.

Ms. Steinau told police the elevator had been out of service for a few days prior to the tragedy, but at the time of the accident the "Out of service" sign had been removed. She had rung for the elevator (with the intent of going to the sixth floor) and had already stepped into it and pushed the button for her floor when Nikaidoh tried to get into the car as the door was closing. As soon as she saw he was trapped by the doors, Steinau tried to hit the emergency stop button but was unable to do so before the rising elevator had partially decapitated Dr. Nikaidoh. The elevator continued upwards, finally stopping between the fourth and fifth floors. Steinau was trapped in the car along with Nikaidoh's cranial remains until she was rescued by firefighters. She was treated in the hospital's emergency room for shock.

that dude that got swallowed up and mangled by one would probably disagree if the escalator didn't kill him.

I got stuck once in an elevator in a hotel in Chicago for about 20 minutes which would have been fine but I had the good fortune of being in it with some random that was claustrophobic or pretended to be. He wouldn't shut up and was constantly asking me how long it would be when I clearly didn't know any more than he did since he was the one who talked to them on the phone. By the end I was becoming homicidal.

That’s sad. Why in the world would those folks go to work when a tropical storm is headed their way. Surely, it wasn’t a surprise. I learned years ago to stay home whether office open or not after 2 employees had cars flooded bc office didn’t close in that day.
