Here's some advice. Try reading the thread before commenting you idiot. I've been the most outspoken proponent of LFTR reactors in this entire thread.
I guess I wasn't clear, because I was not trying to imply that you are anti-nuclear. I was referring to your comment that nuclear is verboten even though we generate 1/3rd of the world's nuclear power and we are like #15 in the world as far as share of total power generated via nuclear. Far from "verboten".

Bring this fact up to to 90% or more of "green" activists. I hope you have your running shoes on.

Which was my point. Which I thought was rather apparent.

Which has nothing to do with a single word in this thread.

It's a shame that the majority of our population is unaware of this. We don't like to talk about it because the Pros of Nuclear energy far exceed every other option and the cons are far inferior to every other option. Neither side will gain votes pushing Nuclear which is why it'll never be THE solution

One would think, but if you interact with him enough you start to realize that his argument for or against everything has to reach to extremes.

The plan is to have rolling blackouts and rolling brownouts. That's the only way that they can accomplish their objective of reducing the USA's reliance on fossil fuel.

They are going to do it. Unless they are stopped with force they will do this.

Of course I do, and if we had true supply and demand, we wouldn’t be in this situation.

But the power companies are government-supported monopolies who can’t “supply” the “demand” their customers require.

Galveston, Texas, currently has 95 percent of its households without power - not due to storm damage or downed power lines, but lack of supply and blackouts mandated by the state,

I'm not keeping up the the power grid news but wouldn't a 100+ temp day put more of a load on the grid?

Heat uses more electricity, but there are a lot of houses that use other sources, so the grid SHOULD be under less stress in the winter -not counting damaged power lines, etc., during storms.

In the U.S., 48 percent of homes are heated with natural gas, 37 percent with electricity and around 14 percent by other sources, such as wood, heating oils, propane, etc.

As stated earlier, last night’s (colder than today) peak was an all time winter high, but It was still significantly below summer peaks.

The blackouts are largely due to NG generation facilities shutting down due to the wells that fed them freezing up.

30k megawatt reduction of generation capacity.

Does the new administration consider look at the billions of dollars US companies make by exporting crude oil and LNG. Aside from the huge economic windfall the United States makes, we saved Japan’s arse whenever they had that massive tsunami and they had no electricity and when their nuclear plants shut down. We brought in hundreds of cargoes of LNG.

I would love to hear how they plan to export electricity or cargo full of batteries.
