Bomb dropped 8/6.

Japan fricks around and doesn't surrender.

Japan finds out and another bomb dropped 8/9.

Japan announces surrender 8/15.

Wonder why it still took them six days to do it.

Unlikely, but I actually wouldn't be stunned if they found one.

It’s a long story but worth reading.

I think at one point the emperor had to go into hiding to avoid being killed by the generals who wanted to keep fighting.

A military junta “advised” the Emperor and actually ran wartime Japan.

They weren’t thrilled about the prospect of surrendering.

There’s your six days, the Emperor finally trumped them and told them to effect the surrender.

The ones with brains realized they would do a lot better surrendering before the Soviets invaded Hokkaido.

Nips really didn't care too much if their people were vaporized by a nuclear blast , even twice.

The fire bombings killed more.

What got their attention is when Stalin jumped in Manchuria a couple of days after the bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.

That is when the emperor and his staff realized that the dance was over.
