This is the answer. Abortion isn't. You don't make the avenues to no-consequence reproduction easier while at the same time hoping for a change. When the act itself is seen as inconsequential, nothing changes.
Also, it's not just fewer entitlements, but harsher penalties for single parent households and less incentive towards divorce. Contrary to making AA's better off, Roe v. Wade/Great Society destroyed the institutions of the family for that demographic.

Divorce? Most are having kids outside of wedlock and with multiple partners. Getting married is not conducive to living off the government teet...much easier for a single woman of 3 to get government assistance with her 8-12k income

I couldn't "knowingly" participate in that. If the tribes of criminals see a few folks hanged, weekly, i'd bet the testosteroney level would drop.

The death penalty does nothing to discourage capital crime.
No penalties are going to stop people from breaking the law. The only way to decrease crime is to inhibit the population growth and expanse of likely criminal elements.
I fully admit that my opinions are incredibly racist and probably immoral, but it doesn't make me wrong.

Has the picture of the piece of shite that killed the deputy been posted?

JBE just had a press conference on it and asked for prayers for the family
Can't say I could ever see Jindal or Diapers Vitter doing that.

Well, I'm very white, very conservative and very much to the right and I do believe in big time punishment. In fact, eye for an eye in public would be fine.
I can't judge you, nor do I want to on the unlimited abortion issue, not my job, but, someone else will.

RIP Deputy. Thoughts and prayers for his family.
Why has his name been put out there but the POS that caused this has not?

Has Mayor Broome spoken out on the situation yet?
Too bad Carl Dabadie can't just tell her "sorry ma'am, but I'm not going anywhere."
Posted on 3/19/17 at 2:51 pm to LouisianaLonghorn
The mayor was out there last night and addressed the media when public statements were made by law enforcement.

What's worse, paying someone a few thousand bucks to abort a baby they don't need, or the state paying to raise and inevitably bury or incarcerate that child in 20 years?
Novel idea, how about don't give them money for anything?

What did she say? Nothing of consequence, I'm sure.

Has Dabadie said he was resigning? He doesn't have to resign as far as I know

They haven't "proved" yet that he tried to pull a gun on the cops. That's what everyone who is smart assumes. He had nothing to lose because he was going back to jail at that point for a felon in possession of a firearm. Also, the 911 tape of the person who said that Alton showed him his gun has not been "released" and could possibly be made up because we have not heard the tapes yet. I am not a Sterling fan at all but some "facts" that you quote have not been proven other than he was a thug with a long rap sheet in possession of a firearm.
You are saying this from the legal aspect of things right? Are you saying an argument can still be made that he wasn't trying to pull his gun on the officers?
I don't know if that statement is accurate or not, but this guy did a good job explaining the situation (which still doesn't "prove" anything, but...).

I wouldn't say racist, but immoral for sure.
Are you asking tax payers to reward people for abortions? Have you lost your mind?
Forget the religious aspect of that proposal, but just think about your own wallet. Are you prepared to reward abortions with your own cash?

You know what's funny. Even as a dumb junior in college when LBJ and the democrats got the great society going, it only took about 5 yrs in my career to see what had really happened. Having supported all the changes for the good, it was a real eye opener.
Within 25 yrs, the deal was done. For a few brief periods since that time we had a fair amount of decent leadership, hope was still present. The last 8-15 yrs incentivized the downward spiral continuation. There is still a sliver of hope, but the ramifications may be dire.
We are no longer in Baton Rouge for all of the reasons noted.
Boy do I remember the way it was at one time though. What a great place to live it was.
Prayers to the family that lost a Father and husband and to the other good people in Baton Rouge.

The social fabric of Baton Rouge and New Orleans are unraveling with each passing day. It's open season down there.
