So you are saying Baton Rouge has turned into a city in which the government is literally at war with terrorist groups who are trying to overtake the city in order to gain more power in order to implement their extreme religious views?

Can't say I could ever see Jindal or Diapers Vitter doing that.
There is no reason to bring politics into this situation. Who cares what elected official would have done after a police officer was killed in the line of duty? Why does that even matter?
I have no clue what happened. When I first heard the story, I found it odd that a police officer was shot inside a barber shop on a Saturday night conducting an investigation, but then I thought that they could have been looking to talk with someone who they were unable to find, got a tip where this person was.. and then on from there..
Either way, a police officer, who serves the community and has a family, was killed. That's all that really matters.

While somewhat true, you have to acknowledge the politics that led to this.
Is what it is if you want reality

Dabadie hasn't said anything, but Broome wants him out. She's been very vocal about that from the beginning.

The mayor was out there last night and addressed the media when public statements were made by law enforcement.
Her bullshite statement was weak.
It certainly wasn't directly addressed to the AA thugs out there. Someone needs to make the statement:
" We are aggressively coming after y'all"

Get out while you can. It's trending toward Cape Town, South Africa status now. In New Orleans too.

I get what you're saying, and at the immediate moment, the officer's family & colleagues should be top priority, as well as the investigation into the incident, & how to successfully & harshly prosecute & punish the tPOS who committed the murder, but at some point, preferably sooner rather than later, the questions of why & how this incident of the murder of an innocent police officer, who was simply doing his job, was able to take place at all must be asked, so as hopefully to prevent it from happening again, if that's possible.
Besides the fault & blame absolutely lying with the worthless, sorry excuse for a human being who actually pulled the trigger, the bigger picture must be looked at as well. Whether it's looking at the judge who allowed this proven violent, child abusing criminal to be out of prison at all, looking at a liberal mayor whose anti-law enforcement, race-baiting, hug-a-thug mentality & rhetoric might bear some responsibility for this criminal's state of mind in thinking he's justified in cold bloodedly murdering an officer who was only there to aid in a "domestic dispute," or all of the above, 'politics' will certainly be involved to a certain degree, rightly so.
People keeping their heads in the sand & up their asses in regards to the bigger picture in which politics are most definitely involved is what has led this country, including Baton Rouge, to the shithole it is presently in. Not addressing & simply ignoring the 'politics' & bigger picture of these incidents will only lead to more of them, as has been proven time & again all over this country, including Baton Rouge.

I still think a weekly hanging is the best option.

I'm sort of torn on that one. Part of me hopes he dies this second, another hopes he makes it so that he can be made an example of. I want people to see what kind of a pos this is, but don't know if I can stomach the predictable, typical, inevitable liberal excuses of why he is what he is.

Yeah, but he meant prayers for the family of the TPOS who killed the officer.

I don't want to fund a welfare state either.
But I for sure don't want to pay for some idiot's abortion. I ain't in the habit of paying for killing babies.
Much like I'm not in the habit of paying for people's condoms on a lesser extent.
I think immoral isn't the right word. It's more you are a fricking jackass.

Contrary to making AA's better off, Roe v. Wade/Great Society destroyed the institutions of the family for that demographic.
Roe v Wade has nothing to do with poverty, AA etc. It is a due process/privacy issue.
As for the Great Society, it reduced AFrican American poverty rate, which had been 50%, by 50% to 25% within a few years. It's moot now, as most of it was eliminated in the 1994 welfare reforms. What we have now are some housing subsidies, food stamps and EIC, which helps the working poor.
And of course, it pales in comparison to the corporate welfare that is given away, and it's only getting worse under this president. The government, not markets, are deciding more and more what is produced, industries that should have decayed and been replaced still live thanks to taxpayer subsidies, all compliments of rightist bounty.
As for the "harsh penalties", penalties are already harsh. What do you want here, Singapore? Indonesia? it starts at home and upbringing. That and the drug trade.
