Lamont is trying to reach the youth. What are you guys doing to lower crime in Baton Rouge?
Posted on 8/6/26 at 12:48 pm to NIH
Shooting back can lower some of it by about 6 feet.

The corruption case against LaMont Cole centers on text messages between the former Metro Council member and current school superintendent and a city-parish contractor who is his close friend, court records show.
Texts sent to and from Cole show he “agreed to accept bribes” from his friend, Terral “TJ” Jackson, in exchange for steering contracts to Jackson, according to an arrest warrant issued Wednesday.
In one text message exchange between Cole and TJ Jackson, Cole acknowledges receiving kickbacks from TJ Jackson and another individual, the warrant says. “He knows I’m getting a kickback from both of you and he plans to expose us,” Cole wrote.

EBRPSS spent well over $100k on what amounted to a political rally.
I’ve noticed all these schools have these elaborate photo props for parents & students to take pics.
Were these not the same schools bitching about having their “budget” cut to give teachers a bonus this year? Make it make sense.

EBR Superintendent LaMont Cole turns himself in; affidavit details alleged acceptance of $40,000 in bribes
quote:
BATON ROUGE — Former East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor Pro Tempore LaMont Cole turned himself in to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday morning, one day after he was indicted by a grand jury on corruption charges, including allegedly accepting more than $40,000 in cash and gifts in the form of bribes.
WBRZ was at the jail when Cole turned himself in.
"Respectfully, no comment," Cole said while shaking his head when WBRZ's Mia Monet asked him about the indictment.
Cole's bond was set at $15,000, a bondsman told WBRZ. By 2:30 p.m., Cole posted bond and was released.
Cole, the current East Baton Rouge Parish School System superintendent, was charged with two counts each of conspiracy to commit public bribery and money laundering between $20,000 and $100,000, as well as one count of malfeasance in office.
According to dates provided in the indictment, Cole, 52, is accused of committing the crimes between Aug. 10, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2024. Cole resigned from the Metro Council on Aug. 6, 2024, and started as EBR superintendent two days later.
WBRZ previously reported that Cole was under investigation by the AG's office in late July.
Two other people—Erica and Terral Jackson—were indicted Wednesday on criminal conspiracy to commit public bribery and money laundering charges. Earlier this year, they were also indicted on theft and conspiracy to commit theft charges.
The Jacksons also turned themselves in and are in the custody of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office.
Cole and both Jackson's booked into the EBRPP

Damn. And this is the Superintendent? What kind of idiot puts that shite in texts? Criminally dumb.
Posted on 8/6/26 at 3:50 pm to Redstickbaw
well hes going to prison so
Posted on 8/6/26 at 3:57 pm to CR4090
he did all that when he was on the metro council, which is even worse. caught red-handed and had the gall to pull all that bullshite with the reverend praying over at that event. just horrifying how cynical and souless some people can be. they just do not give a frick about the lying and deceit. power is for grift and grift comes first
and look at that comment in the first text exchange about "convincing people" that the community needs educating, so they could steal
. and they go on and on and on about how only they care about their community.
its just so fricking disheartening to see it in plain sight
