A grand jury formally charged Cole Wednesday with conspiracy to commit public bribery, money laundering, and malfeasance in office.

Cole’s indictment Wednesday stems from his time as an East Baton Rouge Metro Councilman, and not his actions while working at the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

I have a serious question. Can they even help it?

It surely doesn’t seem like it.

Superintendents aren't long term jobs anymore in most places

St George needs their own district so the St George board members can get out of the way and get off the Baton Rouge board
They didn't get their way with the vote and it didn't even pass with St George voters so they decided to pout about it

It’s sad that we didn’t get our own school system, but what’s even sadder is all the corruption being uncovered in EBR Parish.

SG isn’t the problem. The problem is the Democrats. There are too many NGOs bellied up to the trough.

This could be the tip of the iceberg.

That’s the problem with a lot of the black culture in this country, especially in people his age. Agree or disagree, it’s still the truth. Living in the past, while the future is unfolding is why some of these people end up criminally indicted and some of them end up in prison. The getting back at the man syndrome sometimes takes over, which leads to a federal or state prison.

You were doing very well, but then you typed:
quote:

And you can thank the local NAACP + judge john parker for that !!
That is a partially false statement. Judge John V. Parker inherited this case from Judge E. Gordon West. Judge West had tried to end the whole mess by declaring that the program had been successful. Therevwsd a good grounds for this ruling, BUT that was overruled just before he took senior status.

Judge Parker was then assigned this case and struggled with this thankless mess for a long time.

We might not be thrilled with a couple of his rulings, but should examine the full context before making disparaging comments.

The simple truth is that both of them were issued most of their marching orders from the appellate process and endured unfair misery for mandates which were mostly beyond their control.

And speaking ill of the departed is generally a sad social practice.

Please perform due diligence before perpetuating false rumors.

NONE of your response/analysis ecuses the myriad of reckless/poor decisions made by Parker ! When you find yourself in a hole of someone else's doing, the SMAT move is to STOP digging ! He failed to ever 'change course' even as the school system imploded and basically allowed or maybe even encourage the local NAACP 'leadership' to directly insert themselves into every aspect. The result is what we know 'have' i.e. one of the lowest rated shool systems in all of LA. If it were not for some of the highly functioning magnet schools, the system would be defined as a 1-2 race failed school system ! Facts are facts, sorry if you can't see them !

Facts are facts, but higher level mandates from appellate courts are a significant part of those facts - which you willfully ignore.

I am not in the business of defending a ridiculous process which had catastrophic effect, but people should take the time to consider all of the true history.

And your silly CAPS do not bolster your assertion.

The Advocate posted the text messages between Lamont Cole and TJ Jackson. Doesn't look good for Mr. Cole.
