And if anybody does something like that in the private sector their only option for the rest of their lives would be public work lol

The government pay is just fine. The problem lies in hiring dipsh!ts with worthless degrees from Nail colleges and beauty school diplomas.... There are plenty of qualified applicants, but the one that gets hired is usually someone's sister's cousin. EBR school employees are some of the stupidest people you will ever talk to...

A person falls for a phishing scam every 2 minutes in this country. That person works for the EBR school board.

READ THE ARTICLE. There are controls. She circumvented them by virtue of her management position. This is 100% on her.

This is 100% on her. However, if the controls can be so easily circumvented, they are not really controls after all.

I'm the treasurer of our playground booster club and we require 2 signatures on all checks. We have three people that can sign checks, so if someone is out of town or unavailable, we can still comply.

The fact that she was able to so easily move the money should be concerning to everyone.

And the pay is fine considering how many hours you work (or don't work, LOL) but it does tend to get the lesser-qualified among us.

No, the funding is limited. They don't care because they don't have to work for or earn the money.

According to last year's pay schedule (pages 34 and 35), this woman makes $90k-130k per year.

A person in a similar position in a similar sized company would easily make in excess of 150K per year. But they would have to work overtime, more stress, etc.

I would say she was in on the scam but the apparent blatant in your face stupidity involved would seem to preclude that as a possibility.

Oops.

I understand busy people quickly read through stuff without looking closely but this is pretty bad. Just the names of the recipients should have been a tip-off.

This is a legit scam, but it generally hits much smaller companies that have no internal controls at all and really dumb employees.

This is news because it hit such a big organization that should have in place plenty of controls to prevent this.

How does this even happen? Wiring money to people in NY wouldn't throw up any red flags?

Looks very racist. What's the ethnic breakdown of residents in EBR?
