Which ones? I'm not for Delgado but him being responsible for Mud and Water isn't true.

He's now a part owner in Brickyard South. He's at least a part owner of The Brew House, Huey's Bar, Club 1918, and several others whose names escape me at the moment.

I can't wait to watch Delgado get his shite pushed in the next few months. There's hell to pay for insulting people who pay the taxes in this here parish. Gonna be glorious.

You know, Kip, for the most part really hasn't been that bad outside of the St. George debacle. He's been good for developing downtown and getting major infrastructure improvements. Crime is even down some thanks to the Brave program. We're about to realize just how good we've had it.

This.

Damn shame Kip is term limited. He's the best option next to these despicable shitshow candidates.

frick Delgado. Almost got T-boned by him a while back bc he was driving his black Escalade with his 'DELGADO' license plate at about 55 mph on Hyacinth in Southdowns.

Delgado has always reminded me of that guy that says "fagabeefe" in that movie Midnight Madness. One time I saw him shooting a super soaker at some Happy's girls downtown and all I could think of was the word "fagabeefe" as I watched him laugh. He thought it was so funny but those girls were definitely annoyed.

Juan Delgado sucks. He thinks he is the smartest guy in the room, when in all actuality everyone laughes at him, some to his face. He is a flash in the pan, pull up a chair when he goes out it will be in a ball of fire. Between his bars that are close to folding and other things he thinks he is getting away with it will be one of the better political implosions in recent history. Juan

Kip should stay on another term. Can BR pass an amendment to lift term limits?

I got word from a bar owner friend who is pretty influential in the BR service industry that 1913 actually lost its liquor license a couple of weeks ago, but Delgado flexed some muscle and got that taken care of. But according to my friend, the club is bouncing checks to distributors all over town.

My friend also says that Delgado is known among BR's service industry people as the biggest sleaze in town. No real shocker there.

Delgado can go frick himself. Good luck winning Mayor-President in EBR as a Republican without the St George vote.

This x1000. I'm already banned from his campaign page on FB for asking if the St. George Terrorists were allowed to one of his events - rather than addressing the issue which is surely going to come up over the next few months, he just banned me and deleted the comment.

I'm so fricking done with BR though.

Absolutely flabbergasting that such a concept wouldn't work in Baton Rouge, right?

I mean, we have such a huge number of high class people who like fuzzy ropes, going clubbin', and ordering bottle service. What a sure thing!!!!

Delgado's probably planning on running for mayor one day and realizes this is the only way he can get the black votes necessary to win.

Well, I think we all knew from the beginning that 1913 wasn't gonna cut it. But it's been less than 5 months. I'm just a little surprised the ship is sinking that fast.

I had a bottle service girl that works there tell me that her shifts have been cut back drastically and that she's been sent home as early as 12:30 on a Saturday night. It's not gonna make it much longer.

When Delgado was first running against Smokie Bourgeois for councilman, I tried to tell posters on here that Delgado was not the good government guy he tried to portray himself as. I told everyone that while Smokie was not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, he was basically honest. And he WASN'T a lawyer!

All I heard was how Smokie was trying to outlaw food trucks in downtown Baton Rouge when all he did was propose an ordinance requiring food trucks to have a property owner's permission to park and operate on their property, which seemed reasonable to me.

What the hell is this Mud and Water place y'all keep talking about?

Oh, and Delgado is definitely a douche. I've had some experiences with him in the past and he is a pompous arse. That, plus his ignorant and grand standing remarks during the whole St George thing have turned me against him pretty strongly. He panders for power and votes, that is his MO. I second Kip for a fourth term. It would be hard to do worse than the candidates that are running.

Him and the building owner used loopholes inthe contract to force out the partner who was responsible for the music side of the business. That guy is now the music director for 96.9 WHYR community radio station, but at Mud and Water he was bringing in original musicians from all over the country. He was pulling legit touring acts from the indie scene and getting tons of local bands exposure opening up for them. A lot of local bands that have since become regional acts partially became so because of this (Givers, England in 1819, Captain Green, West Without, ect). Basically, Delgado screwed him and forced him out of the business, shutting down that unique venue. Baton Rouge only gets a small fraction of those acts now because Spanish Moon prefers metal acts, Dyson House is basically just for singer/songwriter type acts, and not all of them can play the Varsity (yes that's pretty much all of the original music venues in BR a the moment).

It really is a shame because Mud and Water actually was attracting good crowds, which is miraculous for a BR venue catering to live music.
