They own pretty much every McDonalds in the area and the distributorship too. If you walk in a McDonalds and the managers have a blue shirt on that says 'Valluzo Management', turn around and go somewhere else.

Not pretty much. They own every McDonalds in this area. They have the geographic territory covering the greater baton rouge area.

Not many people own one McDonald's or any fast food franchise. They usually own all of them within an area and when you get up around those numbers it can be very profitable.
And money is really what makes one powerful in local politics

Valluzo has some of it broken out because of his children.
And I'd suggest a bit of homework regarding "free rentals" by BRAF, of which I am a member. It is a major non profit player in the region including surrounding parishes and it has had initiative set backs, as any group does but it does tremendous good for this community and has for 40 years- IBM and Water Campus are just a couple. Pennington Biomedical was another 25 years ago and were it not for BRAF, downtown would still be the ghost town it was when I was growing up in the 70's. Your comments are ignorant.

Me and an associate looked into it but it seems like a slow ROI. Hotel franchises seem to be where it's at. You can be profitable quickly with even an average occupancy rate.

I wouldn't invest in anything new but an established group is good return if you have the cash. It's also fairly safe.
