Did you go to a service today? If so, you need to find another church. I’m still in smiles over Pastor Josh’s sermon today.

I also got to hang with all my kids and grandkids, fried fish and listen to my daughters (no pics) and ex-wife squabble. Today was truly glorious.

Hang in there and find a new church.

I got a bit down after folks left earlier. About an hour before dark I went out and watched the Purple Martins fly. Laughed at a tailless squirrel getting chased by another squirrel and saw a Bluebird dive bomb both of them. I just chilled on a beautiful evening. Listened to nature and just chilled. It always seems to pick me up.

Seems like some vets that we talk to use exercise to work through it. Many run and cycle. Also check YouTube for the movie ‘The Villian’ with Kirk Douglas and Arnold Swarzanegger. That show is the best to make you laugh out loud. Simple humor.

Just putting it out there helps. I’ve got my counselor on speed dial because life is just damn hard. Cant exercise just yet because of a back injury. 9mm in hand but know it’s not the answer. Great church sermon but alone at night and feeling the weight. Just hoping someone else pulled through.

It’s my first Easter alone (moved 1000 miles from Louisiana). While it would have been much better to spend time with family, I found ways to entertain myself today by working out then cooking an Easter dinner for 1

Besides the gnats that keep landing in my bourbon, I’m happy doing the same. It’s just me and my dogs sitting out here.

OP, I’m going through a divorce right now, so this is my first Easter in close to 30 years that I’ll be alone for the rest of the evening. I’m just reflecting on good stuff. My grown kids are all doing fine and I’m not broke anymore (because of the divorce and the fact that my kids are doing fine).

I’m “empty nesting” as a single adult. I’m on a new chapter of my life because everything I did up to now was always for someone else (wife/kids). I have two paths laid out in front of me: the first is to be sad about not having my family around anymore, the second is to rejoice about not having my family around anymore .

I choose to take the second path. You’ve got to choose too. There’s the path you’re on/feeling this evening and the other path that leads to some inner peace and happiness. Find what’s needed to take the path towards happiness. If you can’t find it on your own, talk to someone that can help you find it.

Go on a diet.

What comedies do you like? Watch them and have a laugh.

Smoke some weed and watch The Three Stooges - guarantee you will laugh and probably ruin your diet with the munchies.

Get back on your diet and lift weights. Heavy as you can. Then do cardio afterwards. You'll be too tired to be depressed.

Then smoke some weed and watch some Laurel and Hardy.

This. Year. Sucks. I’m talking from March 2020 til now.

One long, strange, sucky year. It feels difficult to process just how long it's been since the first lockdown. And of course, the constant news of death, sometimes people we knew. Takes a toll that's hard to measure as it's happening.

Go read or listen to David Goggins story of going from childhood abuse to 300# lb exterminator to Navy Seal and ultramarathon runner. You have to suffer in some fashion to get to the good stuff on the other side.

This, try to find something you can do that makes you happy that doesn’t involve a weapon. It’s been a dog shite year for a lot of people so don’t feel alone in that. Being isolated has created an entirely different set of problems for many but do something that makes you happy. Think of one thing that always made you feel better.

Watch Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles then get back with us. Yeah, it's over-the-top and goofy, but it will take your mind off just about anything.

Had a close friend who was dying from pancreatic cancer, and she admitted to watching that movie on particularly bad days before she passed.

Otherwise, I'd suggest turning off the news and focusing on what's going right all around you. The greatest majority of folks will do anything to help their neighbor. We still live in the greatest nation on earth. We live in an age of incomprehensible knowledge. Science will keep us alive longer than ever before. Spring is here. The Masters is on next weekend.
