I guess you forgot about that pretty famous black guy who was SA's first black president, Nelson Mandela.

You're in for a real surprise when you read about Indians in Uganda.

Less than 1% of the population but 65% of tax revenues.

How's about no? Ever hear of the element of surprise? People are less inclined to do stupid shite to harm others when the chances of a lynch mob showing up are greater. Now they know.

In 2008, SA was one of the hot spots for growth. We opened an office there and were seeing encouraging numbers.

That company no longer has an office there.

We have friends from SA, the stories are sad. The last parent of theirs passed away, and while it was sad, they are relieved to be able to completely separate from that awful place. Com

The next Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). "Land reform". As soon as you hear those words, run. It means seizing the land from the knowledgeable, competent producers, and giving it to the urban peasants. The animals die, the land goes fallow, everyone starves.

Land reform:
Venezuela
Cuba
Bolivia
Angola

Keep trying, maybe it will work someday.

I've traveled around the world for work and pleasure, and Durban was one of the worst places that I've seen. Carjackings, home invasions, etc. are every day events. Alcoholism is rampant also which makes driving around even more dangerous. Our employees have to pass a breathalyzer test before being allowed in the plant. Most whites live in barricaded compounds armed to the teeth. Hiring security guards is iffy because they can be bought off cheaply by the bad guys to look the other way.

Crazy that white people still live there. White people in America flee neighborhoods at the drop of a hat

Met a man that lived through South African anarchy. He resides in rural LA now and has distance markers on trees around his property. Makes it easier to shoot if things break down here. We are all under the illusion of societal stability when in reality we are always teetering on the brink. Two week disruption of services and our major cities would be in the same situation.

Used to be one of my "bucket list" places, not so much the last 10 years.

It's sad what's happened to Africa's greatest country in such a short time. Definitely some lessons that should be learned and applied to the US, but that won't happen

Truth. Remember how testy people got when they couldn’t find shite tickets and hand sanitizer? Now imagine their reaction if everything was in short supply?

These numbers are 10 years old and likely haven't changed that much. The American South has the vast majority of the Black population. Those States will be the most impacted. If you think that White people will rise up and stop an uprising here like what has been happening in South Africa you are mistaken. There are more than enough black people to cause significant damage in the South like what we are seeing in South Africa.
