You're a dumb arse. You're getting a quick introduction to someone you might be interested in, there's less pressure, and you can bounce early if you know it's not going to work out.

This thread has inspired me to finally ask out a girl from work (different department).

Slow down, playa. Ain't nobody recommending this.

What do you say we get a cuppa a joe at (name of coffee shop) after work?” Assertive, or too creepy?

Saying it like that is creepy. I also wouldn't recommend coffee AFTER work. Most people are trying to wind down after work, not get a caffeine buzz. I would suggest a bar in this scenario and I would suggest wording it like this. "I'm headed to (place of business) after work for happy hour. Do you want to join me?" You might only get two shots at this, so when you ask her make sure it's when you just had a good conversation with her. She might turn you down the first time because she is busy that day after work. If you ask her again on a different week and she gives you the same response that she is busy then move on.

Coffee dates are beta? I'm sorry if I don't want to drop 30 bucks on dinner for some woman there's 50/50 chance I'll know we aren't compatible from a couple minutes after the date began. Or try to force conversation for hours with someone I'm not compatible with.

Coffee dates are quick and cheap, seems like a pretty damn good option for a first date for me. Some of y'all are so into calling stuff "alpha" or beta," it's like, come on...

And ur post proves that marriage is not some ‘end all, be all’ goal to pursue..

I agree with that. We should just be saying “relationships”

I’m a believer in long-term monogamous relationships, but it doesn’t have to be an actual marriage.

And many of those had chances to marry and either chose not to, or fricked it up due their own issues. Doesn’t make the idea false. People with Downs Syndrome marry. Obese people marry.

You come off as highly judgmental. You have no idea why people don’t get married yet you just assume they’re the problem. I don’t think you have any idea what you’re talking about within this thread.

If you read the whole exchange you would see that my point was that he “sounds” like an incel, using the language and talking points. Not that he was one. I said that he needed to get that out of his system and get back out there, because that attitude can bleed into his personal life and social conversations. I also apologized for the harshness of my post and said I was confident that he could find whatever he is looking for. So perhaps your post is the lazy one.

Gaslight all you want to but you inferred the guy was an incel. His post was thoughtful and in no way "incel"

Its annoying that men cant have real conversations about their real experiences without the conversation immediately going to "you sound like an incel"

Sure, it’s all opinions. But if you’ve been out of the dating world for the past 10-12 years, your opinion is a bit less informed than that of those currently in the dating pool.

I just got liked by this “girl” on Bumble. Yeah, I know it’s a scammer but I’m bored and will play along at least until the offer to invest in cryptocurrency comes along.
