Had work one night bartending. Got absolutely wasted. Proceed to drive an hour and a half up to our land blackout drunk. Woke up shirtless in the bed of my truck in the middle of a field after apparently getting stuck while blackout mud riding

Got pulled over for speeding on the way home from Bourbon when I was about 19. Cop had me get out of the car and had me standing at the rear of the car on the shoulder of the Westbank Expwy. Thought for sure he knew I was drinking and was gonna make me take a breathalyzer. Think it wouldve been about a 50-50 shot of being below .08 but because I wasnt 21 yet at the time, I could’ve gotten a DWI if I had any alcohol on my breath. After he ran my license and registration he ended up just letting me go with a warning for speeding

I have a buddy that drives long haul 18 wheelers so whenever he comes thru STL, he always stops for the night and we party. One night last January, we party and I take him back to his truck drunk as frick. As I head home, I get about 1.5 miles from my condo and I get pulled over. Cop tells me i "left a stop light and accelerated too fast". I had a warrant for failure to appear on a tint ticket and the cop just took me in for that. Bonded out in a few hours and he took me back to my car with no mention of a DUI. Thanked god for that one cause I was blackout drunk.

because cops are busy busting college kids instead

This is fricking stupid. So let a drunk college kid off the hook for drinking and driving because there are "real criminals" out there?

What about when the stupid arse college kid kills someone because he made a stupid arse decision to get behind the wheel drunk? He's no better than the thugs beating the shite out of the guy in front of DQ at that point.

Using the "sir I stopped you because your brakelight was out" schtick is one thing, but if they get your arse for swerving all over the road, you deserve it.

Don’t know how I made the drive from uptown to Kenner so many times. The best though was the night of bachus years back. Truth be told I’m pretty sober at this point, but I’m sure I would have blown over an .08. Cutting through old metry to get back in. Car full of drunk assholes. I’m on west Napoleon right where it starts before causeway. This white crown Vic almost runs the shite out of this stop sign and nearly hits me. I honk. My buddy is flipping him off. Well. It’s an unmarked unit. He pulls us over. He’s drunk too. Admitted to running the sign , but he was still on this huge power trip about my buddy giving him the bird. Told that baw straight up he’s in the back seat if you wanna talk to him I don’t have anything to do with it other than the fact that you nearly hit us. Well he let us go right there.

I was driving home to Mandeville from a friend house in New Orleans after a party one night. I had a few beers and was a little tipsy, but not really drunk. I saw the cop pull out of the crossover on the Causeway to start following me. He pulled me over about 2 Miles later. Holy shite was my heart pounding. He said “I pulled you over cause another officer said he saw you swerving, but you look fine to me. Get home safe.” Never again have I drove drunk. Not worth it.

I left the varsity one night after drinking and my buddy told me to follow him back to the interstate. We left out back behind the varsity and as soon as we turn the corner we were in the middle of a dui checkpoint. Now my buddy is in front of me and he gets through but my wife is passed out drunk in the front seat so I’m panicking big time. The officer walks up and asks if I have been drinking and I tell him no sir. He then points his flashlight at my wife and she immediately sits up and says I’m exhausted with a big yawn at the end. The officer waived us on through and a few blocks over I had to pull over and let my wife puke

I've only had one, it'll never happen again

1988 after the last day of class at Loyola we played pool all day and got hammered at TJ Quills and I drove me and my roommate back to out house on Cromwell place. I bounced off a half dozen parked cars on Freret in front of Tulane and crashed into a pole. We abandoned the car and walked home. The car wasn't registered and nobody ever came looking for me

not my finest hour

I drove through a dui check point at Louisiana and Napoleon after dropping a friend off at the Saulet because she was too drunk to drive. I drank a 750ml sour beer over a course of about 2-3 hours before that. I’m not sure if I would have passed a breathalyzer, but I just told the cop I wasn’t drinking that night and that I was on my way back from dropping off a friend at her house. He let me go through, but I was a little nervous even though I wasn’t drunk.

I’m sorry, but that whole story is so stereotypical.

I understand the entertainment of stories and don’t ridicule those who have done it in the past and see the error (I have as well), but a drunk driver killed my sister.

I don’t appreciate those who think it’s funny/acceptable beyond historical accounts.

I rear ended a guy once. I was plastered and was scared shitless. Luckily both cars were still drivable and it was a younger kid that reaked of weed.

He was so scared his dad was going to find out so we just exchanged insurance info and went our separate ways. Haven't drank and drove since.

Tell “your buddy” the next time he makes up a story, make it interesting. Have the girlfriend take off her shirt or something.

I'm gonna assume this driver was drunk or under another substance; it was early afternoon and I was leaving for school

But I saw this person drive their car into another parked car in the main lsu stadium parking lot. Luckily no one was in the car and the person left a note with I'm assuming their info.
